Update on Long Island News Truck Cat

I was so upset over the police rescuing the poor News Truck Cat in Long Island and letting her go (presumably, miles from home), that I tried to find more info on the poor cat's fate.

According to WCBS reporter Jennifer Logan, WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall jumped at the chance to take the cat home (although it wasn't clear if they'd actually caught the cat and it was in her possession).

If the cat is safe, that's good news, but I'm still concerned that the cat is someone's pet. Any cat would behave like a feral after getting that E-ticket ride, and the cat looks a little too well-fed to me to be a feral. I hope someone makes an effort to rule out the fact that News Truck Cat has a family who is missing her.
