Princess Aurora is one of the fanciest felines you’ll meet while traversing the upper echelons of the cat social media circuit. This Blue Bicolor Ragdoll can be found in official snaps on her Instagram account looking exceptionally poised and regal. It’s an image that’s proved a hit with fans across the globe, as Princess Aurora’s racked up more than 100,000 faithful subjects who dutifully follow along with her daily schedule.
After becoming instantly smitten when they first saw her at just three months old, Princess Aurora’s owners, Niklas and Emily, offered her a home where she could fulfill her royal potential. Here’s what we know about this queen-in-waiting.
She is true to her regal name. Niklas confirms that this feline “definitely has the personality of a princess.” With that in mind, her humans created her Instagram as an outlet that would “revolve around her being a princess,” while adding that her “royal beauty” was also something they wanted to convey.
On a day-to-day basis, Niklas says, Princess Aurora’s official duties involve “eating, sleeping, and being groomed.”
As public and paparazzi interest in her has increased, she’s also “grown to really enjoy having photo shoots as well — mostly because that means going out for walks and getting a lot of treats as well as attention.”
Considering that Princess Aurora is in the public eye so often, it’s imperative that she keep up a professional grooming routine. Unfortunately for her, that involves regular bathing sessions.
“Like most cats, she is not extremely fond of being bathed or showered,” says Niklas. “However, she loves to play in water on her own terms. For example, after her humans shower, she always plays in the water that is left on the floor.”
It’s now officially pumpkin spice latte season, and Princess Aurora supports the movement. If you spot her sashaying through a Starbucks, expect to find her ordering a special off-menu treat called a “catnip cappuccino.” That’s royal privilege right there.
Straying from her formal duties, Princess Aurora was recently captured in karaoke reverie. As the original caption to the controversial picture above puts it, “When your drunk friend grabs the microphone during the chorus of ‘I Will Always Love You’ at karaoke night.”
Digging deeper into Princess Aurora’s sing-along habits, it transpires that her backup song is Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.” Why? Simply because, “Aurora is always happy.”
