Hi everyone - Mo's mom here. This wasn't the first diary entry I was planning on writing after our move, but here it is.
So this morning Mo decided to explore under the bed when I heard a sick thump/cracking noise. I have no idea what it was - but I'm kinda assuming Mo hit her head on the bed frame. She seems ok - but it was a scary noise. Her pupils are the same, and she drank some water and isn't vomiting.
Then the new place smells a little like new paint and varnish, and everything is sticky with I don't know what. So I've been wiping everything down with clorax wipes.
Anyway, I know I'm probably being way paranoid and over worried, but can you all just purr a small purr that Mo will be ok here? I have to leave her for a day and night tomorrow and I'm so worried about her. (I tend to stress - a lot!)
Thanks friends. Sorry to bother you, but you're all so wonderful and helpful. I'll write more of our adventure later!
Sending lots of purrs!
If her signs are good chances are she is OK. I once got scared by a dog and ran full tilt head-first into the front door which I mistakenly thought was open, so Mum knows what that sickening thud sounds like. Awful!
Ouch! Well, we cats are pretty hard-headed. If Mo is acting normal, I wouldn't worry overmuch. My sister Vicki took a plunge down the stair well as a kitten (she backed away from the Roomba in the upstairs hall and went right off the edge) and Mom about had a heart attack, but Vicki was fine. She will spend her time alone exploring her new digs and getting comfortable.
You knows I be purrin' fur Monida. I KNOWS all 'bout the stress of moofing. MOL
Jen say to tell you to BE PATIENT, cuz it taked me a long time to gets comfrable af'er we moofed.
We're adding our purrs, too!
Hope all will soon be fine and 'normal'...
Purrs to you and Mo.
She will probably stay where she feels most comfortable while you are away.
Hang in there Mom..things will get easier...
Our kittens were constantly ramming their heads into the steel futon frame,& they weren't badly injured(ahem)....Purrs for Mo!
We'll be purring for you, Monida. Things'll get to normal pretty soon. Hang in there. :)
Thanks everyone! You've helped mom feel much better and calm down. :) I can't wait to tell you all about my new place. It has lots of windows!! And it's a lot cooler than our last place. We won't have Internet until at least next Tuesday, so we'll still be a little scarce for awhile. Love you all!
We are all purring for you and your Mom, we know QT will watch over Monida while you are gone.
Purrs sent as well!!
Lots of purrs for you Monida! I bet you just bumped into something, I do that lots, mommy always freaks out when I falls off something, but I always gets right back up and goes on my merry way! hehehe!
Purrs from us, too, Monida! Hope you're enjoying those windows and getting comfortable in your new place.
Purrs from me too. Monida, you might want to help unpack a moving box or two when you're alone. Your Mom will be so grateful that you got started on that.
Purrs little one!
Purrs for you from all of us. Your new place sounds great with all those windows.
Sending our purrs that Monida is all settled and happy in her new home very soon and her head bump is quickly recovered from. I'm sure she'll enjoy helping you unpack. Purrs and headrubs Toby and Josie
Sending lots of purrs to Mo and to you.
Sending lots of purrs to Mo and to you.
I can't count the number of times we girls - but particularly Samhain and Fearless - while playing chase, have run headlong into chairs, cabinets, etc with that same sickening thud, but have acted perfectly normal afterwards (or what passes for normal for them, eh Tigger? heeheehee) But the idea of your helping with the unpacking made me think of something. Your Mama could leave some empty packing boxes for hidey-holes in whichever rooms you will be allowed to go into while she's gone. Maybe throw a few treats in for interest. It will give you something to explore, plus provide a same retreat if any noise should startle you.
We are purring for you too.
