New Baby sister

OMG!! Mommy just said "you are FOUR times the size of Miss Lucy so why are you so scared that you need to growl and hiss at her?" ummmmmm...was that insult somehow supposed to make me feel better about this new kitten living in m MY house?? What are you trying to say Mom? That I am FAT????

I am getting spayed today

Today is the day I am getting spayed. Mommy held me and made them take everybody else first. I purred and snuggled up really nice because I could tell she needed some extra loving today. Then she cried like a baby when she handed me over to the nice girl named April. It'll be ok Mommy! Everybody else was ok when they went. Dr. Hulse takes really good care of kitties and today Dr. Kimm was there too so there's extra super special care and super doctors on hand to look after me. Don't cry Mommy. I'll be home before you know it!

I had my first bath today!

Well...my first shower actually and it was not on purpose for me or for Mommy for that matter. Mommy was taking a shower and I climbed up on the edge of the tub and peeked at her from the other end of the curtain. How cute is that, right!?! So Mommy giggled and I turned to walk the edge of the tub between the curtain and the liner. Next thing you know, there I am in the tub looking up at Mommy as water splashes down all over me. I didn't know what to do but Mommy scooped me up and pitched me out into the bathroom. By the time she could get the soap rinsed off herself and come after me I ran into the bedroom and climbed up on the bed. I was all wet but I didn't know what to do so I was just laying there looking pitiful. Mommy wrapped me up in her towel and made everything all better and I purred for her. But Mommy is afraid that now when I really do need to have a bath it's going to be a huge battle after this little disaster. My sisters just laughed at me. None of them is silly enough to get up there when the shower is running. It would have been nice if somebody warned me. I am just a baby after all.

Daily Diary Pick

Wow!! I'm just a baby and my diary was picked today!! Thanks Catster! I spent my morning playing with toys. My latest favorite is a fishy that is missing it's feather tail. Really, anything is a toy when you're 12 weeks old. Bits of litter, lint, leaves or cardboard on the floor, the dog's tail, my sister's tails....you name it, it's a toy to me. I was a little bored an hour ago so I decided to chew on Mommy's computer wires. She's working at home today so that's a great way to get some instant attention. I have figured out that if you really want attention, you have to do something nutty. Chew some wires, crash land in the water bowl, climb up a screen. There's lots of things that seem to make Mommy pay attention real quick. But since I am a baby, I get a cuddle instead of being in trouble. I don't know any better, right? (picture my best innocent face here) Cuteness is a huge asset!

My visit to the vet

Mommy tricked me yesterday. She put me in my carrier and the next thing I knew we were in the car going someplace. I yelled a bit to tell her it was a mean trick. But then we got the the vet and everybody made such a fuss over me. Dr. Hulse snuggled me and I purred and purred. She had to hold me over the sink and run the water to get me to stop purring long enough to listen to my heart. Yikes that was mean! She could have just told me to shush. MOL But she said my heart sounds perfect. I was a PURRFECTLY healthy kitten. She was happy that I went from 1.4 to 2 lbs in just 2 weeks. Mommy feeds me lots of good stuff. Then she tricked me. She snuggled me some more and then she stuck a needle in my butt. OUCH!! But I think I like her a lot anyway. I like anybody who gives me snuggles and tells me how cute I am.

Where did my whiskers go?

My Mommy just found out from my breeder (who is a vet) that kittens chew each others whiskers and that the weakest one would lose the most whiskers. (She never saw this with the other kitties in this house when they came home) Since my whiskers were all gone, Mommy thinks I must have been bullied by my siblings! No wonder I was underweight and act like I am nursing sometimes. They must have been pushing me out of the way to eat too. Mommy is very glad that my new (much larger) sisters are all so nice to me. Even Chelsea washes my ears if I go to her for comfort and she's the tough one. But there's plenty to eat here and I am packing on some weight now. She just wishes I'd stop licking her face so much when she holds me. But now she understands it better. Mommy also wishes I would lose the habit of lying under the wheels of the desk chair. She always looks down before moving but someday she might forget and squish me. (and Daddy is careless so I had better not do it with him) It's a good thing there are so many nice sisters for me to learn from here.

Maggie's first vet visit

Maggie passed the new kitten health check with flying colors. She was meowing at Dr. Hulse to let her know she did not appreciate being prodded and poked so it was difficult to listen to her heart and lungs but they sounded just fine when she finally shut up. She was a little too skinny but I have 2 weeks to fatten her up before her next vaccination is due. No ideas from my vet on why her whiskers look like they were all cut off so I will have to email her breeder to ask what happened. The theories from fellow Catsters were malnutrition or rough play. But everybody at the vet thought she was so cute! And one lady in the waiting room said she looked like a bush baby. Y'know what...I looked up bush babies online and the lady was right! Today is her first full day alone in the house with the rest of the fur family and Mommy at work in the office. Mommy may not make it a full day and may have to go home early so I don't worry myself to death over nothing.

The newest addition

Maggie arrived today. It was a 5 hour car ride from Coatesville, PA but she was a good girl. Half in her carrier and half in Mommy's lap. Since being home she has started to meet her new sisters and has already played, used the scratching post, eaten some supper, had a drink and used her potty. She's fitting right in! So far only Bailey is allowed alone with her. Bailey wouldn't hurt a fly to save her own life so she can be trusted with her new sister. Chelsea...not so much. Lots of hissing and growls. Kira is hiding in another room. Allie just came in because she wanted to steal some kitten food and Blaze checked her out but is busy elsewhere with the open windows since they had been closed since we left early yesterday to go get Maggie at the breeder's.
