Happy Birthday to me and Mama!

*yawn* Mama and Daddy are making a big fuss over me today, because today is the day they picked to celebrate the day I was born. Only God really knows my real birthday, but everyone has to have a day to celebrate, right? And the cool thing about today, it's Mama's birthday, too!

Grrrrr, Hissssss, Swat

Last week, Mama came home from work with a new furball. He's a pain, and I don't like him. I just lay around minding my own business, and he just comes and annoys me. That's ok, though. I always make sure he knows just how I feel about him with a hiss and a whap upside his little head. Mama says I grow to love him someday, but I don't think so. Maybe I'll put up with him for Mama's sake, but I can't promise anything. At least Tika is still being decent to me, though lately she annoys me, too. I just wish they would all go away and leave me alone.

Oh the indignity!

This morning started out to be a good day. I promptly woke Daddy up at 5am and did my usual demand of attention to start my day off on the right paw. Once I was satisfied that Daddy was awake and up, I snuggled myself down in Mama's chair and took a little cat nap. I kept hearing Mama and Daddy talking about mats and thought they meant for the door, so I don't bring my kitty litter all over my house. Well, I was surprised! Daddy scooped me up and brought me to the hallway where Mama was waiting with a clipper. Seems that the mats they were talking about were MINE! Mama shaved and trimmed most of my long beautiful fur off my tummy. I protested, but all in vain. They didn't care if I was not happy about having my fur trimmed, nor did they realize it's not my fault if my fur mats easily. I am just a poor, innocent kitty after all.

I must go now... time to wash my face after munching on some Greenies and get ready for my afternoon siesta. Meow for now!

Bringing gifts to Daddy

Hi! My name is Sassy, and I live in Florida. Our house has a nice big porch for Tika and me to sit on and lounge. Is there anything else for us to do all day? I like to sit and watch all these little critters Mommy calls lizards outside playing in the sand and grass, and sometimes when they get close to the screen where I lay, I chase them. What else should I do? Well, one day I was laying on the porch sunning myself when I saw one of those little lizards on my side of the screen. I thought... Wow! A new play toy! So I started to chase him, and before you know it, I had him! I brought him in the house and Daddy saw me with him in my mouth. He made me drop him (which I wasn't very happy about... Daddy had NO idea how hard I tried to catch him) and then he told me what a good girl I was. Even though I can't smile on the outside, I was beaming on the inside. I finally caught my very first lizard!
