We've been saving our feathers for an auction like this

My brother Shabby and I have been saving our feathers to participate in an E-Bay auction to benefit "Keep America Beautiful". Specifically, we are hopeful bidders on a piece of artwork called "If Cats Ruled the World" created by our friend Skeezix's mom, THE Food Lady. The auction piece, a 24"x20" textured canvas with vibrant blue and green colors, depicts how cats would rule the world. She incorporated woven pet food cans to add a textured effect.

Wish us luck -- we are the current bid leaders! There are 17 other artwork pieces that are up for bid. We are happy that THE Food Lady is leading the race with the highest priced item; THE Food Lady is even ahead of 90210 tv star Jenny Garth!

I can purr!

Yesterday (10/8/09), Mommy heard me purr for the first time as she petted me on my cat condo! Yes, I am slowly coming out of my shell, and don't immediately run away anymore when my food people approach me. I am hiding less from under my bed, and I now thoroughly enjoy my brushings in the evening (especially on top of my head, and under my chin). Mommy said something about a "lion's haircut" this month for me. What is that???

Katie is crying with happiness for all the recent well- wishes (8/12/09)

Katie Tulip is crying with happiness today for all the recent well wishes from her Catster friends. She didn't know that her "scratchingpost" was selected for Diary of the Day. She has also been very grateful to her CatMommy recently, and Katie has been making nightly trips to gather peacock feathers from downstairs and bring them up to surprise CatMommy in the morning -- a couple of mornings ago we found 4 peacock feathers at the foot of the bed!

Katie is new to the concept of "friends" but she is slowly coming out of her scared shell and finding unconditional love all around her.
