My little brofur Maurice is very sick. He has not been able to hold any food down for days now. He's been to the vet and they did an x-ray and didn't see anything. His bloodwork has come back normal, only his liver was slightly elevated.
When he first got sick, he coughed up a hairball and then wouldn't eat. We got worried about him because last year he had a urinary blockage and we know how important it is that he stays hydrated.
He's been getting fluids for the last couple days and has been on an anti-naseual. For the last two days, he has been able to eat a little, but he throws up his food about two hours later. He makes the saddest little meow before he throws up.
We are really confused and scared for him. Has any other cat had anything like this or know what it could be?
does he have diarreah?
how long does the food stay before he pukes?
sounds exactly like kitty
he may have a blockage in his intestines. that would account for some not wanting to eat
fatty liver can result
purrs for maurice
He doesn't have diarrhea. He hasn't pooped in days, since he started being sick. The food stays down about two hours.
We are worried about a blockage since he has a fondness for chewing on plastic bags. We all try to watch him, but we are worried he may have eaten some plastic. Does anycat know if that would show on an x-ray?
it should show up
No we haven't had any of these things happen to us...not sure if plastic would show up...did you mention this to the vet?
I know cats can take pepcid, check with our vet to see if they think that will help with him tummy!
Sorry we don't know anymore!
We are purring for Maurice, we sure hope he gets better!
Oh dear...we don't have any answers fur you, but we do send lots of purrs and pawyers that the right medicine or the problem will be figured out.]Poor little (big) Maurice. POTP to him!
Purrrrrrssss!!!! Sending love and prayers your way!
Sending many Meezer purrs to Maurice. Hope he starts feeling better soon.
If you haven't talked to your vet today or yesterday, then I would call them and discuss all your concerns. Tell them he's not any better and is there something else they can do, some other medicine? Can they give him something to move his bowls? If it's a good vet they should not mind you calling and they will talk to you (maybe not right away but they should call you back).
We are sending many healing purrs and big hugs.
poor little guy! we will keep him in our prayers Jezebel!
We're purring for Maurice. We hope the vet can help figure it out.
Mommy and me cannot help as we would be just as scared as we are sure you are. The best we can offer is our purrs and prayers and you have tons of those coming your way from us...

Monster purrs coming Maurice's way
The vet didn't think it was a blockage because nothing showed up on the xray.
Right now Maurice is on an anti-naseaual and an anti-inflammatory. Last night he ate a tiny bit about an hour after he had his meds and we think he held it down. But this morning he was vomiting bile.
We're all worried about the poor guy.
Oh gosh Jez : ( You reckon he got into some cleaning stuff? We don't know what to tell you Sweetie. Wonder why the bile? Tummy empty??
Try some baby food like chicken and rice.
Sending lots of purrs and prayers ♥
Okay I want to tell you that he should be tested immediately for pancreatitis!!! He should have an ultrasound and a PLI done. it won't show on the X-rays because the pancreas is behind the stomach. but it will show on the ultrasound. his liver enzymes being up can be caused by this and throwing up bile is definitely not good. Please call the vet and ask them to test for pancreatitis asap as this is very painful. What are the names of the meds he's on?
He's being tested for pancreatitis... and the vet said if he happened to have that, he is getting exactly the treatment he would get for it. He's throwing up the bile because he isn't eating like he should and his tummy is empty. Our vet is Dr. Sean Messonier, and he is really well known as a holistic vet, one of the best in the country....he ran an initial battery of tests and took an xray and now is running more tests... he sent us home with subcutaneous fluids and the meds he would get if Maurice is in the hospital but thinks Maurice would do better at home than in the emergency clinic over the weekend... he even gave us his cell phone number. He said if Mo isn't better by Monday, we will probably do an ultrasound, and then a scope if need be...
We just keep hoping he will feel better and not have to go through all that since he had to go through a lot Spring 2012 with the urinary blockage.
Thanks for the prayers,
Please have everything checked out soon. I hate waiting while a kitty is still feeling ill....Alex's mom knows her stuff. Keep in communication with her.
Hope that he does better soon.....p.s. I have a second opinion always when my sweetie is not feeling well. Another pair of eyes and mind are always good....
We are all sorry to hear that Maurice is still feeling poorly. We're purring for you, buddy.
So sorry to hear about Maurice, sounds like you are doing everything you can for him to get better. We will all be purring and praying that he feels better soon. Keep us posted on how things are going. Love, Tate

Thank you guys for all the help and purrs. They must've worked because I started feelin' a lot better last night. I got my appetite back and really wanted to eat. I haven't vomited for the past 36 hours. My blood tests came back with good results, and I pooped this morning.
We's still not sure what exactly was wrong with me. I just glad I's feelin' so much better!
Well, thank the Ceiling Cat! We are so happy to hear it!
I'm with Sammie, Thank God!!!!!!! I was so worried.
