Cotton had an appointment with her traditional vet Dr. Knight at CityPaws in D.C. (She also sees a homeopathic vet, Dr. Chapman.) Cotton has an ongoing skin issue and just got over ringworm. The poor little girl is still trying to get her immune system back in tip top shape but in the meantime it seems we're battling a new problem each week.

Cotton was on a long course of antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection which is mostly cleared now except for the occassional sniffle or sneeze. Unfortunately those antibiotics resulted in an over abundance of yeasties which make her uncomfortable and itchy and when she's itchy she scratches which introduces yeast into the skin which makes her itchy... You get the picture.

So we're trying some antifungal medication along with toenail cleanings (the yeast is building up especially bad on her nails) and a switch from clumping clay litter to paper litter. Cotton's also going to be getting baths with a medicated shampoo for another (unrelated) skin problem on her tummy. She is not a fan of baths but she's small and my kitchen sink is large so bathing her isn't too hard. Mostly she sits there meowing as if to say "Guys! Guys!!..... I'm WET!"

Poor girl is a mess! But she's far better than she was an still improving.
