One or four?

We've been neglecting our catster pages for a while - sowwy. Life can get so busy sometimes and this past year was a bit crazy. Meowmy says I'm going to be five years old next year. Yikes, five years already? So I checked on my profile and it says I'm only one (1) years old. *MOL* Meowmy says it's probably the font that makes a four (4) look like a one (1) on the page. We don't know exactly when my birthday is since I was a stray in my former life, but we'll just celebrate it with Binky's next month. The olde furt is turning 14 already, can you believe it? That's like over 70 for a human! Haha! I shall go and tease him now...

Woah!

Yes, we're still alive! *MOL* Our computer was acting up again and wouldn't let us sign in to a lot of websites. That doesn't mean we're bored over here. Far from it! We're four kitties in the house again and it's a madhouse, let me tell ya! Kimba is nuts, but I'm having a lot of fun chasing with him through the house and watching him getting whacked by Katie for being too feisty. Binky tries to stay out of it, but it's impossible not to get pounced on by Kimba at least twice a day or so. It would be even more fun if mommy would join us more often for playtime.

There's a new cat in the house!

Woohoo, we're having a kitten again! Well, mommy says the people who trapped him and got him fixed estimated he was about a year old, but she thinks he's younger than that, probably not much older than six months or so. He looks like a white Maine Coon mix or somewhat of a Turkish Angora look-alike. She brought him home from the pet fair on Saturday and he's living in our foster room now. He wanted out this morning though and scaled the pet doors and broke through the paper mommy had taped over the gap at the top. Imagine that! Smart kit already figured out that paper is no barrier for determined felines! So we all followed him around and Katie hissed a bit and then he hissed at mommy when she picked him up and put him back into his room. He didn't want to go back yet and I didn't even get a good sniff at him yet! I hope he'll come out again soon.

Long time no post

Meow! Yep, we're still here! Gosh, summer time is great. So many things are happening! There were so many people in our house, it was so much fun. Mommy said they were her pawrents and friends and then our pet sitter brought the kids over to play. I love playing with the kids! Binky and Katie are cowards, they don't know what they're missing by hiding all the time. Anyway, the only disadvantage of having visitors is that there's always someone sitting at the computer doing this or doing that or just playing games. So we didn't get to use it all that often and haven't been able to keep up with our furriends online. Hopefully this will change now that things are calming down again.

Shrewing around again

Mreowww! The hunting season is open!

I almost caught my first shrew of the year today. Almost! If mommy had just let me sit out there on the lawn for a little while longer. I could hear and feel it moving through its tunnels right under my paws. There were earthworms crawling out of the ground all around me and through the grass and runnin... I mean, slithering for their lives. Mommy says shrews eat earthworms. They need to eat almost as much as they weigh themselves each day because their metabolism is so fast. I eat them worms, too, when they come slithering in underneath the basement door on a rainy day. But not today. Not if there are shrews to catch! Unfortunately the shrew didn't follow the worms into bright daylight - it just kept pushing up more soil. I tried to dig it out, but then mommy picked me up and took me inside again.

Meowaaah! I wanna go back out again! It feels so good to be shrewin' around again!

Woohoo - finally! Our resident groundhog is up and moving about the yard again. He came out of his hibernation burrow today after looong months of no sign of him. We've been watching him from the window at first and then from our enclosure outside. He's been staring back at us, still looking a little sleepy. I hope this means it's Spring now! It's so nice outside - mommy says it's supposed to be 77 F tomorrow. She has all the windows open right now. Gosh, I hope she keeps them open all day and night!

Our Possum is Dead

Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who had the honor of killing it. It fell victim to one of the mechanical predators zooming past our house all the time. Mommy scraped the bloody remains off the street in front of our house this morning. We would've liked to go out and help her but she didn't let us out. Darn! I really would've liked possum roadkill on the menu. Oh well, I guess we'll survive without it.

I am the Tom of the Dance!

rapitty-tap-tap

No kitty taps faster than I do, and one day I'll stomp that annoying little red glowfly into the floor and smash it to smithereens!

Until then, I'm gonna practice my fearsome step-dancing skillz.

Ah, Katie tells me I'm looking dashingly handsome and oh so manly. ~purrs~

Hah, gotcha! Did I kill it? Did I kill it? Argh! How'd that little red dot get all the way up to the ceiling now? I guess I'll have to practice my flying skillz now. Mommy's shoulder looks like a good launchpad...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Wow, crazy weather! We've had sooo much snow today. Mommy let me out to play with it for a while. I love playing in the snow! It's fun to dig in it for a while. Until your paws get cold - then you have to come in and warm your feet on mommy's lap, mehehe. The others are too wimpy to dig snow, of course. Well, more snow for me! Mommy says it's about eight inches thick now based on her handy-dandy ruler.

It's raining again now, but freezing rain this time. It's drumming on the windows like so many pieces of kibble. Katie and I have been running back and forth to see if maybe it was kibble! Sadly, it doesn't look like it though, just frozen drops on the window screens.

I'm Singing in the Rain...

It's raining. It's been raining all day long. Mommy left the door to our outdoors enclosure open anyway though, because it's not too cold today, just wet. So I've been sitting out there, meowing for the others to come out, too. And what do those cowards do? Stop right at the doorstep and turn around. As if that little bit of rain will melt their fur or something. How silly!

Anyway, I eventually got tired of sitting out there all alone and meowing to myself, so I came in and jumped on mommy's lap to leave muddy paw prints on her pants and rub wet cat hair all over her face. You should try that - it has a certain entertainment value. Mwuahaharrr! Oh no, here she comes with a towel... Run!
