Arrival Story:
There will never be another cat like Zi. He was one in a million. He was my special boy from the moment we laid eyes on each other. He was found stuck in a tree when he was four months old, and brought to the Waihi SPCA where my mother and I volunteer. Once the required seven days were up and his owners didn't come forward to claim him, he came home with me. From the moment he walked in the door, he was the king. He won the hearts of everyone who met him, but he was always mummies boy. I remember when he got stuck on the neighbors roof, I was terrified that he would fall and hurt himself, but luckily we got him down safely. He always used to sleep on my bed, curled up on my head usually. If I stayed on the computer too late, he would jump up on the desk and meow at me as if to say "It's bed time mum", then he would trot up the stairs and wait for me. He loved sleeping in the concrete planter on the deck and stalking insects in the backyard. I will never forget the day I got the call to say that he had been hit by a car. I will my little boy forever. It eases my mind to know that he will be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge when my time comes.
