Leave a treat for Simba (1994-2010)

Sim-Sim, Simbie, Simbarumba, Simbasaurus Rex

Quick Bio:
-mixed breed

Simba has a unnatural attraction to string of any kind. Because of this, we have to hide any and all thread, strings and rubber bands. He also loves his treats - saying that word can wake him from a sound sleep.

Getting his nails trimmed, rides in the car, gift bows being stuck to him [he had an incident] and being chased by the dogs.

Favorite Toy:
Feather and his lucky rabbit's foot

Favorite Nap Spot:
In a shoebox or on the back of the couch. Simba has always loved shoeboxes, so there is always one out for him to enjoy.

Favorite Food:
French fries, treats.

As a kitten, Simba loved to fetch sparkle balls. He was the dog of the house until the acutal dogs arrived. Simba can also open doors. He can respond to the question, "Do you want a treat?" by meowing.

Arrival Story:
We found Simba in a pet supply shop (still hadn't found that Humane Society!) near the university I was attending. He was the biggest one there - probably from a different litter of kittens. Wait...let me back up...I have to admit, Simba wasn't our first choice. Chris came to my work one day to tell me he found the perfect kitten at that pet store. I said NO WAY, and the issue dropped. A few days later, I decided to go to that pet shop and buy what I thought was that kitten. Took the little guy home - it was a hot day, and my car had no A/C. Hid him in the bathroom, to keep him separated from Corkie. Well...that wasn't the 'perfect kitty' I had heard about! Took the little guy back to find 'perfect kitty' but he had been sold. Spent some time to 'meet' all the kittens there (quite a few to pick from) and decided on Simba because he so closely resembled Corkie. What an excellent choice.

One spring day, when we still lived in an apartment, I was getting ready to go to work and started to close the windows before I left. When I got to the bedroom window, I noticed that the screen was missing. I started calling for the cats, because they weren't anywhere to be found. Corkie came running, but Simba did not. After searching the apartment, I ran downstairs (we were on the second floor) and saw Simba sitting in front of the window waiting to come back inside! [How he knew that was the way in still amazes me, as he is an indoor cat.] He raced up the stairs, and back into the safety of the apartment. Luckily, he was not harmed, but even to this day, I make sure that whenever I open a window, I make sure the window screen is secure! Simba's name comes from the movie The Lion King. Simba is known for his constant crying - like Corkie, he is very vocal...but his cries go on and on, like a siren!
