Thanksgiving Tag

I was tagged by my favorite girl, Marie! I'm supposed to list 5 things I am thankful for and then tag 5 furriends. This will be fun, I love Thanksgiving!

1. I'm thankful for my warm and cozy home. Here in Michigan, the weather is already very cold and snowy and there's so many humans and animals out there who don't have a warm place to go.

2. I'm thankful for the nutritious food in my tummy. I'm especially thankful for the delicious treats in the "kitty cabinet."

3. I'm thankful for my little (sometimes annoying) brofur, Odin. He keeps me company during stressful visits to the vet and he's fun to chase around.

4. I'm thankful for the rescue organization, S.A.F.E, for taking me in when I was a kitten, and I'm thankful for my meowmy who adopted me. I had been with the organization for quite some time...No one seemed to want a very shy kitty. If only they could see me now!

5. Last but not least, I'm thankful for Catster and all the wonderful families we've met here, especially my pal Norman. We love all of you guys from the bottom of our little hearts!

I'm going for my shots tomorrow (updated)

Hi furriends >^.^<

Well, it's that time of the year again...I'm due for my annual shots tomorrow at 2 p.m. I won't be going alone this year, though, Odin is due for his, too! Oh boy it's going to be bad! Dad won't be able to go this time due to work so mom is going to have to do it by herself. That’s okay, though, she just complains that I'm too heavy--especially in my carrier. Me, too heavy? She's just too weak! Anymew, I can guarantee tomorrow will be full of scratches, squirming, flying fur, wheezing, and maybe an occasionally poo on the vet office's floor (I do that when I get upset). Sounds fun, right? I'm also due to get my teeth cleaned, so mom plans on making an appointment for that tomorrow while we're there. This time she's going to ask for a mild sedative to give me before she takes me to my cleaning, though. I get so upset at the vet's, she's afraid I'll have a heart attack one of these days. Teeth cleanings are especially stressful for me since they have to draw blood. Mom gets sad just thinking about how awful and scared I must feel :o( Hopefully a mild sedative will relax me and also help to make the vet's job a little easier. I guess we'll just have to see! I sure would appreciate it if I didn't have to be so scared, though.

Update 11-19-2008
My appointment went better than expected! I was a very brave boy (even the vet said so). My shots went well--I didn't even make a noise. Neither Odin nor I have worms (as expected) and I even lost a pound! I'm now down to 13.2, hooray!

After Odin and I were done with our exams and shots, mom left us in the examining room while she went to pay. When she left, we were both in our own carriers (doors open). When she came back, she closed my door and tried to pick me up. Much to her surprise, I was about 10 pounds heavier than when she carried me in! She peeped in my cage only to find Odin and me, curled up with one another. I looked at her, giving her a very slooow blink, closed my eyes and went back to sleep. Odin and I were calm the entire drive home :o)

Tomorrow, I'm scheduled for my teeth cleaning. Mom is very nervous, as expected. She has to drop me off at 7:45 in the morning, and she can pick me up around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, as long as I'm fully awake from the anesthesia. Maybe I should bring Odin for support...Hehe :o) He seemed to calm me last week, so I thank him for that. He's a good little brother!

"Things I Don't Like" tag!

I was tagged by my orange furriend, Fuzz! Fun!

Here are 5 things that I don't like:

1. Strangers--especially noisy ones!

2. Having my teeth brushed. I have gingivitis, so meowmy insists upon brushing them often. Ick!

3. Being held for too long. I'll scratch and squirm!

4. When meowmy closes the windows and turns on the a/c. I hate not being able to hear the birdies and sniff the fresh air!

5. Almond extract. Mom puts it in French toast and I got a whiff of it once and OMC! I made such a terrible face. That stuff stinks!

My Birthday is tomorrow (Saturday)!

Guess what, everyfur! I'm going to be THREE years old tomorrow! Can you believe it?! Meowmy keeps telling me what a handsome guy I've grown to be *puffs out chest*

Tomorrow will be filled with tuna, Fancy Feast, Greenies, and lots of loves and brushing from meowmy--all of my favorite things (just as long as she doesn't put a birthday hat on me!)

Pawsome news regarding my Grandmeowmy Jan!

Hello everycat! I have wonderful news about my Grandmeowmy Jan today *does a little dance*...

She recently had a second biopsy done, this time checking for cancer in her lymph nodes. We got the results today and they are just fine! >^.^< A second spot was found, though, but it was removed so she is now cancer free! We are VERY relieved.

One downside, though, is that this is the kind of cancer that can (and probably will) come back. Her doctor has suggested either radiation, or a mastectomy. We're just so happy that she is going to be okay! :o)

She brought over a pawresent today for my meowmy. A big book called "Catopia"! Mom just loves it. It has all kinds of neat little kitty things in it...From breed information to kitty superstitions to kitty ancestry! Did you know that dreaming of a Calico cat means good luck in friendships, both new and old? And that cats were often kept on board of a ship to bring good luck? A black cat with no white hairs at all was especially lucky! Another cool fact: British Prime Minister Winston Churchill owned a tabby cat named Jock who attended many wartime cabinet meetings. President Theodore Roosevelt had a cat named Slippers who often attended grand Whitehouse dinners. Very cool, me thinks! >^.^<

Updates on my Grandma Jan...

Hello, everyfur...

My Grandma Jan got the results of her biopsy today. I am very sad to report that she does have cancer. We're doing our best to think positively but it's been very difficult. Meowmy’s face has been a wet mess all day. Oh, how she wishes she could just take her place...

Grandma Jan has a doctor's appointment on Monday morning, and she'll find out more details then. All the doctor told her today is that she has a rare form of breast cancer. We're praying that it has not (and will not) spread.

Pawlease keep her in your prayers. She has already been through so much, and she is such a beautiful purrson. We all love her very much ♥

Pawlease purr & pray for my Grandma Jan

Hello Everyfur >^.^<

Your purrs and prayers are very much needed for my Grandma Jan (my Pawpaw's mom). A few weeks ago during her routine mammogram, two suspicious spots were found. My meowmy went with her today to see a specialist and things aren't looking good :o( They scheduled her for a biopsy early tomorrow morning. It's not clear yet when we'll know the results, but we're hoping it's very soon... We're all so worried. She's like a second mom to our mom, and she loves me and Odin very much. She even brings over toys for us :o) She's one of the kindest humans we know, and she's been through so much already, this is the last thing she needs. Pawlease everycat, purr real loud tonight and pray that these two spots are not malignant. I'll post updates as soon as I here from meowmy.

A Sick Meowmy

Hello, everyfur!

Sadly, I must report that our meowmy is quite sick, yet again, with an upper respiratory infection! She went to the human vet yesterday morning and got some medicine, but so far it has not helped. Last time this happened, she ended up with pneumonia and was in bed for what seemed like FOREVER! It was terrible, because as you kitties know, no one takes care of us like our meowmies.

Anymew, though, in case we’re not around much for a few days, this is why.

1. I have very beautiful blue-green eyes! My pictures don't do them justice.
2. I'm an indoor kitty only, but I sneak outside whenever I get the chance. I like to roll in dirt and chew on grass!
3. I've been known to pin my dog cousin Kirby into the corner whenever he comes over.
4. I actually prefer my dry food over soft food.
5. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my litterbox. I do my business and cover it as usual, walk away, and come back a few seconds later and continue covering it. (Repeat process 3-4 times!)
