Likes: Eating!!!! And to trip people up as they walk by Pet-Peeves: Sudden movements and loud noises Favorite Toy: We're still waiting to find out if she knows how to play... Favorite Nap Spot: On the kitchen counter or coffee table where she can see what's going on (and get to the food fastest) Favorite Food: Anything and everything, but she will go nuts for Pooh's home-made chicken doggie food Skills: She is an incredible groomer. The cleanest cat in town. She also has an incredible stare, as if she's wearing invisible glasses and is peering over the top of them at you. Dwells:
indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: Fifi was left behind when her family moved away. For three weeks during early December, she sat on the corner of our block waiting for them to come back. A few days before Christmas 2007, I finally enticed her in through the front door and she's been with us ever since. Bio: Our vet thought she was about 4 when we took her in, but it's a complete guess. She is very petite giving her the look of a much younger cat. She's very shy with an adorable little raspy meow, but come dinner time, she's the first one there! For some reason Caney Cat has always bullied Fifi (he saw an easy target) but just recently, since Tyler left us, she has gone on the offense, launching at him from across the room and giving him little chance to mount his own campaign. Half his size, she can bowl him over and send him spinning across the hardwood floor in a tumbleweed of flying fur. She spends a lot of time outside but never goes far, and is always there to greet us whenever we arrive home, no matter the time. Lives Remaining: 8 of 9 Forums Motto: I just want to be loved! Hello, my name is Fifi. At least it is now, thanks to my new daddy. I used to have another name but nobody knows what is was and I'm not telling! It might have sounded like "Caney", because when my new mum calls Caney Cat, I usually come running.
Anyway, I've been watching this Catster thing for a while (from afar) and finally my new mum has decided I can join in. I know why she hesitated - it's because she really hoped she would find my family, and was trying not to bond with me "just in case". Well the weeks are going by and still no progress. Maybe I'm here to stay??
I think it's only appropriate that I post the poem my mum and new brother Tyler wrote for me in my very furrst diary entry. They wrote it because they care about me, and that makes me very happy. Here it is:
Tis the night before Christmas and all that I wish
Is some tasty morsel for my food dish,
And somewhere warm and safe to sleep.
Far from the streets my soul to keep.
Away from the traffic and dogs running wild
Out of the weather though it’s sunny and mild,
If Santa agrees to my simple request,
I promise I’ll try to behave my best.
If you take me in for a little while,
I promise to purr and make you smile,
I’ll be polite and sit quietly,
I’ll sleep out of the way by your Christmas Tree.
I’ll try not to be greedy, but I’m hungry and cold,
So forgive me if sometimes I get too bold,
I promise not to disturb or carouse
With the other animals in the house.
I’m lost you see, and very far from home,
I don’t know how I came to roam,
But someone loved me long ago -
Where they are now, I do not know.
In the meantime I know that you’ll be kind,
My heart lead me here for you to find,
And while you look hard for my family,
I’ll be so good, as good as can be.
Tis the night before Christmas and I’m happy to be
Snoozing in the lap of luxury,
But I dream of my family out there in the night
And wonder if they know my plight?
If it comes to pass you don’t find them for me,
Perhaps you’ll consider keeping me,
And give me a bed, blanket, shelter and love
So my prayers will be answered by God above.
