Arrival Story: One day I was returning home from the grocery and I saw 2 cats eating out of a dumpster in my apartment complex. I figured they were feral but I called out to them anyway. The yellow one jumped out of the dumpster and came running towards me with his ears layed back, meowing! I thought he was going to attack me, so I quickly ran into the apartment. I had to unload the groceries out of the car, but each time I went outside, the cat ran towards me, meowing! I really thought he had rabies and was going to attack me, but I had to get the groceries, so I just stood there and waited for him to attack me. He didn't. :-) He started rubbing against my legs and "talking" to me! He raised up on his back legs, begging to be picked up! I gave him some food and water, and every few days he would return to eat and get petted and cuddled. He did this off and on for several months. The day I decided to keep him was on New Years Eve, when it was snowing and I heard a cat outside meowing. I looked outside and saw a yellow "blob" streaking through the snow and running up the stairs. I was having a very bad evening, and at midnight while everyone else was partying, I was laying in bed, depressed. Leon somehow sensed my depression, and decided to try to eat my hair at the stroke of midnight! He kept meowing, and eating my hair! I was laughing so hard that I couldn't be sad anymore. It was at that moment I decided he had come into my life for a reason, and I decided to keep him.

Bio: Leon was diagnosed with FIV (Feline AIDS) in April 2001. At first he had recurring upper respiratory infections and diarrhea, but he has since gotten QUITE fat and healthy, and is now symptom free! He was also diabetic for about six months in 2001 - 2002, but has since recovered!

This morning my mama scooped me up and put me in the carrier. I HATE THAT DARN CARRIER!!!! I don't know why she did it... I wasn't sick, and I just had my shots back in May. But she said something about maintenance coming to spray for bugs and something about hiding all the animals she's not supposed to have in her apartment. Now why *I* had to be the one to leave is beyond me.
But anyway, we rode to her work (Vet clinic) and she put me in a cage in a big noisy room. Those stupid dogs were barking all day long and I had to sit and look at them.
But anyway, I survived the day and it was time to go. I was nervous today, though, so I held my peepee and poopoo all day. Then mama put me in the carrier so we could ride home. Now, the last time this happened, I got so scared I poopied all over and it got all over me. This time was no different. *L* Well, except for the fact that I peepeed too, and got that all over me! I tried to tell her I had to go, but she was driving and wouldn't pull over and get me a litter box! So it came out. I knew what was gonna happen when we got home, cuz this happened before. Mama ran the bathwater and as soon as I got out of that nasty carrier she put me in there. Have I mentioned that I HATE THE BATHTUB!!??!!! She scrubbed my feet and bottom and tummy. I kept trying to climb out but she was holding me real good. I started to pant - I was really scared and wanted her to let me go. It didn't work... she finished scrubbing me and dried me off and FINALLY let me out of the bathroom. I ran out of there as fast as I could. My brother Harrison started growling and hissing at me... I don't know WHAT is wrong with him. Mama says he is a crackhead... I don't know what that is but I wonder if it involves that little glass thing he plays with when she's not home?
Anyway, mama gave me my fishies (one spoonful of canned cat food) and then I forgave her :-) But this better not happen again!!!!
