Sun Sign: Birthday: March 28th 2002
 Coloration: Orange & White Tabby

Likes: I love sitting on mom's lap and being pet. I love cuddling up with my sister Libby. I love boxes and paper bags, and I love playing with all my toys.

Pet-Peeves: I hate taking medicine. Mom always turns me over on my back and puts pills in my mouth and that yucky liquid medicine is no fun either. It makes me feel better but I hate taking it! Oh, and I hate closed doors too.

Favorite Toy: My mom makes cat toys so I have lots to play with. My favorite toy is a sample dog toy my mom made, it's a small fleece braid just the right size for me. I love to play with this toy in the bathtub!

Favorite Nap Spot: My mom makes cat beds for me so I have several great napping spots. I usually divide my time between the bed by the bedroom window and the bed by the dining room heater.

Favorite Food: I have food allergies so I really don't get many treats, once in a while mom will drop a piece of popcorn and I love that!

Skills: Mom says that I'm really smart. I know lots of commands and tricks... "come", "sit", "stay", "wait", "paw"(shake), "lay down", "speak", "kiss". These are really easy for me.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: I was a shelter kitten on display at a Petsmart store. My mom picked me out because of my beautiful long orange fur. She was looking for a friend for her other cat Libby and she thought I had just the right personality to get along great with Libby (and she was right!). She named me after a tight rope walking cat she saw at a pet show. I know lots of tricks, but not that one - at least not yet!

Bio: I've been sick a lot in my short life. I didn't want to tell you guys about all this, but mom thinks it's important. You see, she was searching for info on RTA (a kidney disease I have) and found some other cats here on Catster with the same thing. She was hoping to talk to their parents about their experience with this disease. So mom thinks it's important for me to tell you about everything going on with me in hopes that other kitty parents will read this and maybe our experiences can help others. You can send us a message if you would like to know more. Here goes...
I've been sick so much that mom has lost track of it all. When I was young I started having ongoing problems with diarrhea. The vet said I probably had IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). Shortly after that my mom noticed I had a puffy fat lip. The vet said it was eosinophilic granuloma complex which is sometimes called a "rodent ulcer" (but mom doesn't let me go outside to catch any real mice!). We learned that this is caused by food allergies so my diet was switched to a novel protein. I like it ok, but get really jealous that my sister gets to eat foods that I'm not allowed to - no fair! My IBD symptoms flare up once in a while and then I have to go back to the vet, but otherwise I was doing okay.
Then in April of 2007 the food I was eating was recalled. I wasn't feeling sick, but my mom worries about me so she took me in to the vet to have a blood test to see if the food affected me. The results were strange. My kidney values showed a high BUN (blood urea nitrogen) level but normal creatinine level. I had to have several more blood tests after that. Later in the year I got a urinary tract infection and one of the vets told my mom I was in kidney failure. My mom was so upset. She took me to see a kidney specialist. My diagnosis was RTA - renal tubular acidosis. I also have metabolic acidosis and secondary hyperparathyroidism. Wow, that's a lot for such a small girl like me. Now I have to take a lot of medicine. I really hate taking the medicine, but it does make me feel better.
I want you to know that there is more to me than all this sickness. I'm a really great cat. I love my mom a lot and love to sit on her lap, she says I'm a love bug. I'm very talkative and have a loud purr. My mom thinks I am really smart. She has taught me a bunch of tricks, like sit and shake paw. I know a lot more of these tricks than my sister does, she thinks that everything means sit down - what a silly girl! I am also really spoiled and I love it! My mom makes cat toys and beds. Libby and I get to test out all of the things she makes. You can check out her stuff on her website: www.freewebs.com/lzpets. She started out making this stuff as a way to spoil us, but it also helps pay for all my medical bills. Thanks for reading about me! I'm going to go curl up for a nap with my sister Libby. Bye!

Happy Birthday to me! I am seven years old today.
It's a Saturday so Meowmy stayed home with me all day, which I loved. I got to enjoy a special dinner and lots of petting and snuggles.
I hope all my Catster friends had a good day too. =^..^=
Purrs,

I just took my Catster "Celebrity Match Quiz". I'm Gwen Stefani. A rock star cat? Hmm, I kinda like that. Thanks for the fun quiz Catster!
Meow at ya later!

Your cat is Gwen Stefani!
A stuff-strutter and a trend-setter, Zoe is rock star Gwen Stefani!
There's no doubt that Zoe was born to entertain—her vintage look mixed with her modern style keep her public (not to mention her owner) coming back for more. Her jaw-dropping looks may mean that she's a common occurrence on the PetStar Magazine 50 Most Beautiful Pets list, but a player she is not: Zoe is as loyal as they come. Despite the amount of attention she receives from devoted fans, it's not hard to see that underneath that well-groomed rock and roll coat, Zoe is, after all, just a girl.
