Arrival Story: Hi! My name is Ivy and I am 7 years old. I am a long haired grey tabby kitty. I am adopted, and I am a very special kitty. I have brain damage, which I presumably suffered from a head injury when I was only 2 weeks old. I was said to have been smashed by a toddler and rescued by a human nurse, who did mouth to mouth resuscitation on me because I was not breathing. Then, the nurse brought me to the vet to be put to sleep because she thought I could not live in my condition. The tech working at the clinic asked the nurse lady if she wanted to make any attempts to save my life. The nurse lady told her that she would like to, but she had no money. The vet tech lady made a deal with the nurse lady that she would sign custody of me over to her, and that she would treat me for 12 hours and if I didn't get any better, the clinic would euthanize me. The nurse lady cried and said thank you, signed the papers to release me to the clinic, and left with the toddler in tow. The vet tech lady gave me steroids, subcutaneous fluids and dextrose, and kept me warm and comfy. The next morning, I began to drink KMR (kitten milk replacement) from a syringe. Over the next few days, I did so well that they gave me my name, Ivy. I went everywhere the vet tech lady went, even to her college classes! In addition to my injuries, I was also sick. I was suffering from flea anemia, amongst other things like intestingal parasites. I got better, though. That vet tech lady ended up adopting me. Now she's my Mommy! I do suffer from permanent brain damage, which is believed to be either from the toddler injury, or pawsibly from cerebellar hypoplasia, and I am partially paralyzed on my right side. I am extremely wobbly like a drunk kitty! I have trouble doing a lot of things that all of the other cats can do, such as eating and drinking from a dish, jumping up on furniture, and even walking in a straight line, but everyone loves me and they all help me out a lot. I have a wonderful family! I am not ashamed of my handicaps. Mommy says what's different about me makes me beautiful!
Bio: I am a furry small kitty underneath all of my fluffiness!

Hey Furriends, guess what! Today is Meowmy's 33rd birthday, and fur her birthday we get to get CatsterPlus! Isn't that neat, how we get a purresent fur Meowmy's birthday? We so happy little kitties! Now we can gets more Zealies and we can put up more pictures, too! Daddy says we can order it in a few minutes and we is sooooo excited! Yay!
Last night, my brudder, PeeWee was not feeling furry good. He slept all day yesterday, which is not unusual fur him, cuz he likes to sleep on Meowmy's bed during the daytime and play all night long. So, we didn't think anything of it until he didn't come out fur his treats. We get treats efurry night when my brudder, Pierre, takes his medicines. PeeWee nefurr misses his treats! So, Meowmy began to wonder. She went in da bedroom to get PeeWee outta bed. She brought his treats in there and he said he wasn't interested and just wanted to sleep. We was a little concerned, but not ofurrly concerned because PeeWee had been up trying to attack the fishies the purrevious night, and we thought he was just furry tired. Meowmy decided to watch him. Well, about 2 hours later, PeeWee started throwing up, and after he throwed up, Meomwy noticed he was making weird "licking in the air" motions, so she came closer to investigate. That is when she noticed a long, brown thread hanging out of PeeWee's mouth! Meowmy was furry worried and scared! She pulled PeeWee's mouth open and saw that it was going all the way down PeeWee's throat! She wasn't sure whether she should try to pull on it or not! So, she decided she would attempt it, but if there was any resistance, she would stop. She didn't want him to swallow it back down! Luckily, it came right out wifout a purroblem. PeeWee did not eat his treats last night, but this morning he was eating his regular food and he was out in the living room laying in da sunshine. Meomwy played wif him and got him some nip and he seems back to his normal self. We is so relieved! We don't know where he got da brown thread, but we thinks it came off of a pair of Daddy's pants that are about that color. Silly PeeWee! He should know better than to eat those things! We are so glad he is ok. We gonna keep a close eye on him fur awhile, just to be sure!
Yay, I'm so excited! I just logged on to find out that I have 290 treats now! Somepawdy wuvs me fur sure! Wow, now I even habs more treats than my brudder, Pierre! I feel so furry special! I wish I knew who my secret furriend was who left them... I would give lots of headbutts and kisses! MOL!
