Happy Birthday to me!!

It was 20 years ago today, a Monday that year, that Meowmi got home from work to find that I had been born, and my furmama was still in the process of birthing the rest of my littermates. Meowmi was mighty excited, but a little annoyed that she had stopped at a happy hour with her carpooler. Otherwise she might have been home in time to see ME born!

As mentioned in my arrival story, my furmama had belonged to her neighbor, who lost his job & had to move back home to Hawaii. Meowmi took furmama in, we kits arrived, and Meowmi got busy finding homes for us with her coworkers. She was sorry to see me chosen by a family since I was, of course, her favorite. But since she already had three cats before she took in my furmama, she didn't feel like she should keep me.

But, lo and behold, one of the family's children discovered he was allergic to me, so back I came to Meowmi! She took that as a sign that she was supposed to keep me, of course! And that was the beginning of a beautiful 13-year relationship! Meowmi was so sad when I decided my kidneys had given me enough trouble and took off for the Rainbow Bridge, but I'm having a good time here & saving a place for her when she decides to come join me.

Meowmi is a little forgetful, so she would like to thank the furfriends who sent birthday greetings so she was reminded of the event!
Big Harry and his furmily sent a lovely heart rosette. Spunky sent a lovely rainbow rosette. And Pipo and Minko sent a great card via Pawmail! Thank you furry much!!

Felix Arrived Today!

My older brofur finally decided to join us today! Fanny and I were beginning to wonder if he was just going to stay in the world forever! OK, so Meowmi probably would've liked that, except for having to give him meds so often. I know HE didn't like getting the meds - who does?? But now that he's here, he's looking like his old distinguished self, and no more meds!! We're partying tonight!

Wings! I have wings! And who would think they'd come from a DOG?! Thanks, Autumn, for a dog you're pretty ok!

I just wonder if they're going to get in the way when I flop over for a tummy rub. . . .
