Arrival Story:
Shortly before my roommates' wedding, he was out walking their dog around our neighborhood when the dog went nuts! He went to investigate and found a feral mother cat and her six kittens under a bush. We called People for Animal Welfare who were great and came out with a humane trap for the mother and kittens. We found them at about five or six weeks, they were trapped at about seven weeks, and fostered for two weeks. I had the mother cat fixed and given her shots and released; she could not be domesticated. Oz was the one of the litter that I picked!
Bio:
I should note Oz is not really a Maine Coon, but "domestic longhair" wasn't a choice. The vet says he is definitely part M.C., but he's really just a longhair mutt. The mom and all six kittens had long hair. Mom was tortoiseshell, kittens were also tortie, gray stripey, orange stripey. Oz is very sweet but still shy with almost anyone but me, which might come from his feral background.

New Brother!:
On September 1st, 2007, Oz became the adoptive older brother of Desmond, a small gray and white kitten. Oz is generally shy, but Desmond has really brought him out of his shell. He is more playful and active than ever!
