Arrival Story:
When we started looking for a cat, I had a good idea that I wanted a female grey cat. My husband and I went to shelters all over South Western Ontario looking for just the right one. Then we happened upon a shelter organization called Furry Friends in Barrie Ontario. My husband called Furry Friends with our request, and was told there was a male grey cat in foster care in Barrie. We drove up after work one night and immediately fell in love with him. We took him home that night, much to his foster mother's dismay, cause she really wanted to keep him. She gave him to us only on the promise that we kiss him everyday. I thought she was a bit nuts, but I do kiss him as promised!

Bio:
3 days after we brought him home, Spirit came down with feline distemper (panleukopenia). We admitted him to the hospital and he had to stay 5 days in solitary confinement while being pumped full of antibiotics. We almost lost him, but our frail little kitty pulled through! It was expensive, but his company is well worth the investment!
