Arrival Story: A family member called us and said that she had found a little Tortie cat that was not in good shape. We went to see the kitty and she couldn't have been more than 6 weeks old. We knew she had to see a doctor soon. We didn't have much money to take her that day so we left her there. I told my mom about the kitty and she asked me if she gave me money would I take her to the vet. Well we did. The vet gave us medicine to put on her face which was all cut up and upon cleaning and administering medicine to her we realized she didn't have a lip. It had been torn away from her jaw bone. We tried to find a home for her, but nobody wanted her. I wasn't going to let her leave though until she had finished taking all of her medicine. I remember sitting on the porch(where she was living at the time) and crying because I knew I could not keep her. Then she got the name Lippy from her daddy. I hated the name because I felt that she would be reminded of her horrible child hood the rest of her life. My mom would call her Yippee and it reminded me of Pippi Longstocking so I started calling her Pippi. So Pippi it was. She eventually moved from the balcony to the bedroom until we could get her tested for FIV and Felv. Then before long she was a permanent fixture to our family. One of the best decisions we have ever made. She is a great kitty!
