Arrival Story: Several years ago, a kitten showed up in my parents' back yard. My dad fed it, and a few days later, its siblings showed up. My dad took them all to the vet, got them spayed/neutered, and got a few adopted. He brought the remaining kittens home (they were too "wild" to find homes) and they never left our yard. Over the years, several mamma cats have found my parents' yard and brought their kittens from all over the neighborhood. My mom and dad gets them all spayed/neutered, and adopted, if possible. The reminaing ones come back to live in the yard. They now hae about 10-15 "regulars" that they feed every day and that know them.
Knuckles was pretty special. From day one, he broke the "feral cat rule" and cuddled with my father, letting him pick him up and handle him. He followed my dad around, even going as far as climbing up ladders after him and running after his car if he drove off. My father had to find ways to trick Knuckles into staying in the yard when he was leaving the house for any reason so he would stay out of the street. My dad wanted to adopt Knuckles, but our family cat, Jenny, was fighting cancer and her vets warned us that adding the stress of adding a new cat to our family would kill her. So we found Knuckles a home. Several homes. Each time he was adopted, my parents would find him, ruffled and dirty, on the doorstep shortly after. He was not leaving my father.
Several months later, Jenny recovered and my father drove up to NY from Florida (he doesn't fly) at Christmas to pick up Knuckles and bring him to Florida. Ever since then he has been an extrememly important and loving member of our family.

Bio: Knuckles loves to make a mess in the litter box, carry and deliver all his toys to various family members, and to knead pillows. His most bizarre habit is "kneading" Delilah- when the two visit, Knuckles stands over Delilah, closes his eyes, and kneads his front paws over her and purrs. I guess it's his way of giving her a hug. She's not so crazy about it.
