Arrival Story:
Originally I had gone to the ARL to pick up a kitten for my sister to give to her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. I just happened to see this adorable fluffball and the sign that said "Adopt one cat, get the 2nd for $10" And then there was Soupy.

Very recently, on Sept 3, 2004 Soupy was in a very very unfortunate accident. Having snuck out very early that morning, Soupy was trying to stay warm atop my car engine. Needless to say I didn't know that when I started the car and all I found under the hood was a shredded belt and clumps of cat fur. 5 days later, by pure luck a neighbor asked if we were missing a cat and low and behold the cat taking refuge under her porch was a poor dehydrated, bedraggled, FILTHY Soupy. Soupy has 2 broken bones, several huge wounds that you can see from the bottom picture and was filthy and matted beyond belief, not to mention ear mites and fleas. But the biggest problem was that the wounds were opposite the broken leg so you can imagine the pain it caused him to sit and lay down. He has had the bone successfully reset and is still mewing pitifully right now... poor boy lost another life but thankfully not the final one. Feb 2005- Soupy is now happily recovered! September 2006- Soupy has passed away due to fatty liver disease everyone is so heartbroken...
