Arrival Story:
Hi - I'm Siri (the small girl on the left in the main photo) and that's my brother Bob that I'm curled up with. We are pretty lucky cats because we were about to be literally walled in at a construction site in Brooklyn...we'd been living in this awful, dirty, dangerous part of a site where condos are now being built. Pretty soon the 4th wall was going up and we would have been stuck in there, with no way out, no food, and no way for anyone to get to us! Fortunately for us we were rescued, otherwise we might have starved to death in there! We are both negative for FIV and FeLV, and very healthy across the board. We've both been spayed/neutered, too. The problem is that we are so used to living outside that being indoors makes us uneasy...we have been in a temporary foster home for a few weeks now, but what we really need is a special person with a lot of patience who is willing to take us on and give us a permanent home...it's going to take us some time to come around to trusting people, and we just need a safe, stable, long-term home where we can begin to unwind and relax and feel safe. The tricky thing is that we can only stay in our foster home for another 2 weeks, and then we don't know what will happen! We have nowhere to go, and now that we are safe and healthy, we sure don't want to have to go back outside and brave the coming winter...we sure could use a real act of kindness here!

Bio:
Siri and Bob are semi-feral cats who really have potential to adjust, but who will need a lot of time and patience from a person with a big heart willing to help save their lives again. Siri is a little more approachable than Bob right now, and although she will cower away from you at first, once you start petting her, she enjoys it - she just purred for the first time the other day!! It would break our hearts to have to return them outside, but that is what we may have to do if we cannot find someone to take them! It would sure be a shame after having rescued them and started them on their way to living indoors.
