BIG birds!

Mary and I were hanging out on our window perch this morning when the BIGGEST birds strolled across the lawn.

What??? Those birds are bigger than me. Really, at least 3 ft. tall!

Each one looked like more than one meal. Gobble-gobble. Gobble-gobble. Wild turkeys. Hey! Get off the lawn - it doesn't need more fertilizer - MOL, you're makin' a mess.

Keep on the lookout!

Human in training

I have trained my foster mom to hand feed me! That's right, put the dish down and now take one piece of kibble in your hand and hold it for me. Good, next piece, please. And repeat and repeat and repeat.

Mary gobbles down her canned food & I ate my kibble (I'm supposed to be on a DIET) - but, something was lacking. I figured out how to increase the personal attention quotient to my advantage. I just sat there with this sad look on my face. Of course, my foster mom couldn't stand that! To coax me into a more cheerful mood, she offered me kibble from her hand - PURRFECT.

MOL! These humans are capable of meeting more of my demands......I'm pondering my next move.....from the warmth of a heated bed. Oh yeah, it turned a little chilly, and I did not miss a beat - the minute that heated bed showed up, I was all over it - literally! Mary can snuggle next to me or sunbathe on the cat tree.

LOL, Nabi :-)

You can call me anything, just don't call me late for dinner.....cause, I'll call you! MOL, I've been on a managed food plan for a little while now. I'm getting the hang of it - and trying to reduce the hang of my belly.

Chasing da'bird is a great way to work off those extra love handles. Fitness counts! Ya gotta look good when you are up for adoption. Besides, it releases all that extra energy and makes me snort & purr.

My companion, Mary, has the opposite challenge. She is on a weight gaining diet. She has some issues around food, due to lack of dental care by our first human. Since her mouth has healed, she has learned she can eat yummy canned food. (I get to lick the bowl after she eats! She always leaves me a bit to nibble.)

We are opposites bonded for life! I love my pal Mary.

Hey, it's almost time to eat........BYE!

Ooops!

The other evening, my foster mom was LOL because I furted. Oops! She was playing with me to distract me from Mary's dinner - Mary eats at a more casual pace than I do. So, foster mom thought some play would be helpful to keep me occupied. She had to laugh because this was a first - she'd never heard a kitty furt.

MOL, hey, I'm a GUY! You know, we eat, we watch the girls, we eat some more, we go for a stroll, nap, scratch ourselves, etc.

She's all about "what does this mean?" Is it that he's grown so comfurtable with us? Is it indigestion? Relax, it's a guy thing.

MOL!

SPORTS!

Wow, football and baseball on TV today. This place is great. My housemates are all girls & could care less - but, fortunately there is a male foster human here. We kick back and watch the games together.

During commercial breaks, I take a stroll through the house - just to stretch my legs and see if there are any snacks around. Dang! I knew something was missing. Oh well, dinner will have to do. Or, I could MOL really loud & see if that works? No results. Okay, I'll have to find one of the girls to annoy. That little Tara hisses at me. Then, she just scampers off and scratches at MY scratching post!

Okay, back to the game. Texas A&M vs Kansas in College Station! This is going wrong - let's check out the World Series.......MOL, it looks cold in Denver.

Dinner time - sports will have to wait.........don't change the channel......

The importance of human companionship

MOL, MOL! My foster mom was away on business for a couple of days - so, I only got morning and evening human attention. She's back now and I am all over her desk and computer.

I meowed so loud, she took my temperature! EEUUWW! But, then I got treats and more hugs. She's taking me to the vet, just in case. She's such a worrier! I'm fine, I just missed her.

PURRZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE???? That vet lady said I have GAINED weight! MOL. I told her it is FUR. Remember??? You shaved it off when I first arrived at my foster home. It was matted and awful - now, it is soft and fluffy. That's where the half pound comes from. FUR! And big bones!

Foster Mom has kept me on a managed amount of food - which I have told her time and again is not enough! We'll see how the new blended diet goes.......I suppose a treadmill is next? Or, I could just chase Tara! She's always hissing at me.

I see those footballs.......that looks like fun!

I have lived all of my life with just one other kitty, Mary. We really need each other to be happy. Right now, we live with a foster family of 3 female felines! MOL, they all hiss at me!! Honestly, I just want to play chase & wrestle - I am not mean.

Those girl kitties HISS at me & I drop my head and walk away. They won't even give me a chance. I know I'm big - but I am SWEET! Really.

Mary and I like to chase the laser dot up and down the darkened hallway in the evening. Sort of a post dinner - pre bedtime exercise. Mary likes to run in circles on the carpet - I'm more of a distance kind of guy. Give me the length of the house for a good run.

Midday is best for chasing Da'Bird. I can leap and jump - but then I get lazy & roll over on my back. My foster mom still swings the birdy by & I get to swat at it.

Mary and I are still in search of that special forever home. We have a sweet deal here, though! It will be a lucky & very special adoptor who gets us!

Purrs to you,

Nabi

Is it possible?

I went nose to nose today with Muffin and she didn't hiss at me! OMC! Could this mean my foster sister is tolerating me, at last? I hope so. I'm big, but I'm friendly....really. Tara and Biscuit seem to have gotten the message that I am just curious. Up until this afternoon, Muffin would have none of it. Here's hoping we are off to a fresh start in this new year.

May the truce last. I am the most gentle kitty my foster humans have ever known - and the BIGGEST!

Headbonks, Nabi

Packing?

OMC! We just learned that we are moving! Not far away, but to a human who is so excited to love us. It is all happening so fast.....but, that's just how it is - one day you win the love lottery.

Mary is taking a nap. I can't wait to tell her! We love it here, but we will have our own family to cover with cat hair. Our foster family already has 3 contributors of that commodity.

Bye for now, I've got to get packed. I get to take my favorite things!

Special thanks to our Catster friend, Micetto. She successfully cast a magic spell that brought us our new future!

Cheekrubs and purrs, Nabi
