Likes:
I like playing chase. Sometimes Teddy will play with me, but sometimes he just hisses at me and bites my ear. When that happens, I'll try to get mommy to play chase. I also love cuddling with my mommy and sleeping on her pillow beside her head.

Pet-Peeves:
I hate getting wet. I also don't understand why I'm not allowed on tables and countertops. My mom says it's not sanitary, and Teddy gets really mad at me when I set off the security alarm by jumping on the table when mom and dad aren't home.

Favorite Toy:
I love to eat plastic bags, especially shopping bags, but my mom won't let me.

Favorite Nap Spot:
I like to sleep on anything that is a dark color so I blend in.

Favorite Food:
I love meat!

Skills:
I walk like Carlie Chaplin. The vet says I might have been hit by a car when I was younger. It doesn't slow me down at all though! I'm also a pretty good mouser, but Mom and Dad don't seem to appreciate the food I leave them in the front hall.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
I was wandering around outside the SPCA for several days, trying to get someone to let me inside. One day the night manager decided to open the door when I knocked, just to see what I would do. Naturally, I walked right in and went to the bowl of food they left out for their office cat. When I had finished eating, I asked to be let out again. After a few days of this, one of the day staff picked me up and put me in a cage. She said someone must have owned me at some point because I am soooo friendly and I'm neutered and declawed. I wasn't very happy living in a cage. On top of that, after a few days I got sick, so they put me in a different room with other sick cats. I had to stay there for a whole week! When i started to feel better, they put me back in the other cage. Lots of people came to see me, but no one wanted to take me home. Lucky for me, a nice lady saw my picture on Petfinder and decided to take me home to be a friend for her other cat. I was very excited to meet my new mommy's cat. I went right up to him and tried to play with him, but he got scared and ran away. He hid under mom's bed for a few days, but he got used to me. Me and Teddy got to be pretty good friends. A little while ago Teddy got sick. He was having lots of trouble pooping, so Mom and Dad took him to the vet. The vet said Teddy wasn't going to get better, and that made Mom and Dad very sad. They had to take Teddy to have a forever sleep so he wouldn't hurt anymore. I really miss Teddy.

We got a new tower!

Mom and Dad got us a new tower today! They put it right by Mom's side of their bed so we can look out the windows there. Mika and I loved it right away. I jumped up to the very top but Mom had to put Mika up there because he doesn't jump as good as me. Molly thought it was neat, but she was scared of it at first. She's afraid of *everything*! Mom says that's because people were really mean to her when she lived outside. She also says Molly would try more new things if I wasn't such a bully to her. Molly came and sat on the middle perch later on when I wasn't around.

Mom and Dad took me for a walk!

Mom put my walking jacket on and I wasn't very happy. She hasn't put that on me in a looooong time, and she doesn't understand that I just can't "walk" in that--I have to slither along on the ground. So that was sort of annoying. But then she had Dad help her put me in this bag she wore! I was *not* impressed, but then they took me outside for a walk with them and that was pretty cool. It was sort of scary being up that high but it was really neat to see all that stuff. And cars aren't that scary if you're not on the ground either. Mom said I was a very good boy for me walk, but she always says that I'm a good boy.

I don't like going to the vet!

Mom and Dad took Mika and me to the vet yesterday. I wasn't supposed to go until next month, but Mom said I have acne on my chin and I had to see the vet to get medicine for it. When I got there, they gave me shots too! I wasn't very happy about that at all. The vet did say I'm very handsome though--I'm glad someone besides my Mom and Dad noticed!

Oh, and Mom and Dad *finally* figured out that Mika's not a girl. Duh. We've been trying to tell them since Mika came here, but you know humans. Anyway, Dad was giving Mika a bellyrub (I finally convinced Mika to let him--bellyrubs are *great*) and Mika was really enjoying it. In fact, Mom says he got a little "excited" and showed Dad he's not a girl at all. Mom and Dad had the vet check to make sure, but they were right--Mika is a boy.

Mika wasn't very happy at the vet either. Now he's growing a polyp in his other ear, so it's bugging him a little. He didn't like it at all when the vet stuck that thing in his ear to check! The vet says he doesn't need an operation yet, but he has to come back again in the summer. The vet also took some blood to see how Mika's kidneys are working. I'm glad I didn't need to have that!
