Toby's story is Petey's story, with one addition. We were to keep only Petey and find homes for his three litter mates, unitl one day, Toby whispered in Mom 1's ear, "Tell Mom to keep me." Mom 1 said back to him, "What if she says no?" Toby replied, "She won't." He was right. I (Mom 2) had become so close to the cat that the thought of giving him up made me weep.
