Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my birthday! I am seven years old! I just got special wet food, which is nice...though I know that birthday time also means vet time, so I am no-doubt headed for that scary place sometime soon. Today, however, we will celebrate my birthday!

A new year, a new entry!

Wow, it's been quite a while since I have written! It's winter now, and my coat is even thicker than usual, if you can believe it, and I haven't been exercising as much as I should. I'm enjoying long naps around the house and staring out at the snow.

Yesterday, we got a piano! I saw them move it in with a strange man--I watched from the basement, through my kitty door They made me stay down there while the door was open.

The piano is pretty neat. I've already played it, in fact, I was the very first one to play it. I hit a couple of notes with my paws, and I think it sounded really good, if I do say so myself.

Grandparents' visit

My grandparents have been visiting my mom, dad and me in Massachusetts. It's always fun when they visit, because they pay a lot of attention to me! They brought me a catnip mouse, which I really like, and they are always wondering where I am--they always want me to hang out with them, which is nice, and when I'm in the room, they pay the most attention to me. That's how it should be, I think. ;) They all left for a couple of days--from all of the books and maps around the house, I gather that they went to Cape Cod. It's okay that I didn't get to go--the ocean really isn't my thing. They seem to have had a good time, and they have been around this morning, which is nice becasue that means we get to keep the windows open. There's a nice breeze today, and it's *almost* as good as being outside. Well, that's not true--nothing is quite that good. Yesterday evening, grandma, grandpa and mom took me outside on a leash. I *hate* the leash! Why do they make me wear it? Yes, true, I might get distracted for a while, chasing bugs or watching birds, or climbing every tree that I see, and I might wander off a little bit, but they worry too much. Mom put the collar on me just tight enough so that I couldn't get out of it! I was pretty upset about that. At one point, I darted for the trees, and the leash slipped through grandma's hands. I thought I was free, but then dad came out and got me. I spent some more time around the gardens after that, since the humans seem okay as long as I stay close to the house. I looked around Gary, Cassie & Enigma's garden, too. It has lots of weeds like my garden, and I was surprised to find a litter box in there! It was sideways, though, like it's out of order. Cassie and Enigma watched me from their back door. I didn't mind so much, since they mostly just seemed interested in what I was doing. I suppose I am a little scary to them, since I am bigger and very furry. We didn't fight or anything, and I think mom and dad should realize that as long as I get my way all the time, I won't cause any trouble like that. ;) I didn't see Gary at all, and my grandma and grandpa were wondering about him.

Okay, well, I'm off to take a nap now! I will write more some other time.
