she was the runt of a group of semi-stray cats who had kittens in my friend's yard- so we found homes for 18 of them, and I kept Miss Em

Bio:
update- Miss Em was diagnosed hyperthyroid in Dec 2004. I had thought she had lost weight, but hard to tell on a home scale with such a petite girl to begin with...she has lost a pound (a lot when you only weigh 9 lbs. to start). We are currently doing 2x day meds in hopes it will stablize her and she can have the radioiodine therapy- her heart/liver/kidney levels are still normal, so we think we got it early-- cross your paws for us- she's far to young & loved to lose yet! Oct. 2005- we moved back to san diego, and started with a new vet- who decided miss em was on too much thyroid (she couldn't keep the pills down)- we're now down to 1/4 pill 1x/day (hidden in cheese, so no trauma in taking it) and doing MUCH better- even put that lost pound back on- yea!!! 11/06--I've moved to the high desert (still an indoor kitty) with my mom and Mylo- and my new human dad (funny to say at 15, huh?)- well, i'm a good traveler- i go with mom and the mutt between sandy eggo and the desert without complain- and remember the rules in BOTH places- I'm SO smart...and finally- mom has me on transdermal thyroid med (through my ear- wow)--no more icky taste, no more throwing up- I feel SOOO much better- I've gained weight (mom's even cutting back my food :::pout::::) and am back to my 'terriorist' self- the dog's in trouble now (again)!!! Well= I've settled in up here- and celebrated my 17th birthday....I don't hear as well anymore, but still love my treats and to hassle the dog! Plus- I had to supervise the kitchen remodel work (it needed a cat scan.....go ahead and groan) 7-2-09- the last and saddest update- my angel has gone back to the bridge- we will forever miss our wonderful, amazing and loving girl- -18 years were NOT enough
