Loki's Day to Day

Amputation

Loki developed a lump on his right rear leg. Looked nasty on x-ray, so I took him to a specialist. The specialist initially did not think it was cancer, but did a biopsy just to be sure. Unfortunately, it turned out to be chondrosarcoma. Loki had to have his leg amputated on 3/8/10. It has been a little over 3 weeks and he is doing amazingly well. He gets around ok, still has a bit of trouble with his landings, but can jump up on the beds and couch ok. His fur has grown back over the incision. He didn't seem to miss a beat, came home from surgery, out of the carrier and started eating and purring. Everyone told me he would do really well, but I had to see it to believe it. I will try to get some new pictures posted soon.
