Arrival Story:
Josie was a stray kitty who lived in my stepdad's barn behind our house. I fed her on our porch for a couple of months before she would stay on the porch at the same time as me. Then she finally let me touch her. Then the day after Christmas 1998 she finally came inside to eat her food - BUT she wouldn't stay unless the door was wide open! LOL I don't know what happened, but I have to assume she was shut in somewhere and left, because for a LONG time she was afraid to be in any place with a door shut. She was obviously dropped off by someone, because she already knew how to use a litter box. As she grew older, she would occasionally have a bit of a "fit" - she would all of a sudden attack whoever was near her. She hasn't done that for some time. Not sure exactly what happened to her before she came to be with us, but she seems happy to be here, and now she has a whole family to be with :D She really took Pixie under her wing as a kitten. It was so cute. I didn't expect her to get along as well with them as she did. She is getting old now, and having a hard time finding the kitty box sometimes (she has a certain spot she seems to like to poop). I think she is becoming senile because she caught a mouse the other day and ran around meowing with it in her mouth for a couple of hours before she figured out she could eat it...?

I don't know about these young cats these days. My human Mum brought in a new kitten tonight - the poor thing is a bit smelly and scared because she's in a new place, and all those cats will do is hiss and growl and puff up at the poor little thing! Mum picked me up to meet her and I sniffed and said hello and was polite. I guess Pixie and Azure are either spoiled or just need to learn some manners, but they weren't very nice to her. It's ok, 'cause I will take her under my wing, just like I did Pixie. Maybe someday these two will learn to do the same. Meanwhile, I'll just protect the little thing and laugh at them as they get all puffed up - MOL!
