I want to thank my mom for adding me to Catster. I didn't know anything about Catster when I walked out of the bushes in her backyard! If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have met all the nice kitties and humans and I met here. I am mom's first orangie! Mom thinks I am staying by the house more. In the past, I have been seen a few blocks down! And last year mom sw me two houses down walking across someone's wooden fence! I have all I want here; I can go to the houses across the street and the neighbor's yard next door and sleep in the bushes all I want!
Oh, I wish mom didn't have to go to work today. Well, she doesn't want to go either! MOL
Well, mom has to go to work soon. Again, thank you my furiends and HQ for a great day so far!
Love and purrs,
Charlie

Hi furriends! Well, mom found out something new about me on Sunday!
Here's some background info:
Mom was outside with me and Firestar (the new kitty in the neighborhood) and she decided to run inside and get some toys to see if Firestar would play. When she came back, Firestar was already by the drainage pipe in front of our house. Mom tried to wave the toy and get Firestar to come out, but he wouldn't; he just kept walking throught the pipe to the other side. The nice neighbor who lives across the street (she's a police officer), saw mom trying to coax Firestar out and mom and she started talking. Like mom, she even tried to get Firestar inside! She has been feeding him too. I saw them across the street talking and I went on over! Then they started talking about me! I like to look into their front glass door but I won't go in. Mom told her how she brings me in when the weather is bad--rainy, cold, or very hot. She told her about the three tags I lost that mom put on me. Mom also told her how she gave me my name. Now they all call me Charlie because they had seen it on the tags.
When I showed up in mom's yard in May, 2007, she thought I had just gotten lost or maybe someone just dropped me in their yard (we have a cat lover flag in the garden--MOL!). I was in good shape and well-groomed. Mom assumed I was a young kitty about Gimli's age. Well, not so! The neighbor said I was already in the neighborhood when they moved in 7 years ago! There's a lady around the corner who feeds me too. Mom gets sad thinking that I had been wandering around in the neighborhood for at least 4 years before they came. She wonders where I stayed and what I did, especially when it was freezing. I just tell mom, "I was waiting for you the whole time!"
We were so glad to see mom and dad come home from their vacation. They were gone a whole five days! They got home very early Saturday morning at 12:30 am and there I was on the front porch sleeping on my blankets on the bench. I was so glad to see them (you can imagine how Gimli felt seeing mom come home). Right away Nigel begged for wet food of course! Dad had a friend come over and check up on us and we only ate dry food, so you can imagine how Nigel was acting like he was starving! MOL Then I got to sleep inside. :)

Charlie

Hiya Catsters! Mom was mowing the front yard today and she decided I needed some new spring pics! So check 'em out! I helped her out in the yard today. She was working in the flowerbeds and I stayed right with her while she was doing her work. After she cut the grass, I went under the nice and shady peach tree in the front yard. Do you know that in twelve more days that I will be in my new home for a year?! Wowza! Mom still doesn't know where I came from or what my story is, but she sure is glad that I showed up in her yard that lovely day in May. You can see on the right side of my face where I my fur is still short from when I had that nasty abcess. But all is better now and my fur is growing back!
Meow at y'all later, mom is going to take some more pics and maybe a new spring video! Woo hoo!
Purrs and headbutts,
Charlie

Wow, I already had an exciting morning! The nice lady came out this morning to see me and I was not in the bushes where I usually stay. Then all of a sudden she heard a meow and looked around but could not see me. So I kept meowing to get her attention and she finally saw me! I was stuck up on the roof of the house. There is a tree next to the house and that is how I got up there. Woe is me! She looked in the garage and there was no ladder. Then she thought of an idea! She got a dining room chair and brought it outside, but it wasn't tall enough. She went back inside and got an old metal stool from the garage. She put the stool next to the chair and stepped on the chair and then the stool. But the stool wasn't tall enough for her to reach me! So she went back inside again and got a plastic tool box of some sorts and put it on top of the stool. She propped the stool and the box next to a metal shelving unit. So she climbed the stool and she was high enough to reach me. I wasn't so sure about this! She pet me to give me some confidence and she gently grabbed me by the front leg. I didn't even hiss or btie. She grabbed me and set me on top of the metal shelf and I jumped down onto the grass. Both of us were so relieved! I'm never going to go up on the roof again!
