Arrival Story:
My husband and I had gone to the local humane society to "just look around." We found out the the pet food recall had caused a very large increase in the amount of feline surrenders. The humane society had over 125 cats available for adoption; most with UTI or common cold (but their owners thought they had medical issues to the recalled pet food--amazing). Anyway, the pound was offering an "adopt one, get one free" on cats. So, we wanted to help (since we have the room and LOVE animals). We adopted Shasta and Tator :)

Tator is the biggest scaredy cat we've ever owned. We rarely see Tator come out of my 14 year-old's room. When he does, he slinks along the ground to avoid popping up on anyone's radar. So, to spend time with Tator, we all hang out in the bedroom with him. He's a very, very sweet boy who has been taking a little longer to acclimate to his new home. He's a lazy lump on the log, but Shasta has been helping him come out of his shell more and more. Tator is a great addition to our home!
