Arrival Story:
My co-worker's mother-in-law's cat had kittens. We had just lost a feral kitten we had adopted to an illness contracted before we adopted him. We got the pick of the litter and couldn't decide between Linus and Lucy--so we got both!

Bio:
Lucy starts the fights, Linus finishes them. She does have one weakness--being scritched at the base of her tail. She finds that irresistable. Lucy's intelligence level would be so much higher if she didn't try to start fights with our biggest and strongest barncat, Bootsie.

Postscript:
Lucy disappeared in December, 2007, without a trace. We figure that either a hawk or coyotes got her, but know that she had to have put up a bodacious fight. About a month later, we began to hear plaintive meowing from time to time. Then rumors of seeing "glimpses" of Lucy. Finally, I got to see for myself, from a distance--it sure looked like her off in the woods. Why wouldn't she come home? Then one day, that gray tabby kitty lingered after a meal to doze on the concrete, warm from the sun of early spring. The kitty rolled over to recharge the tummy solar cells and made it clear that this wasn't Lucy. This was a new feral, probably sired by the other feral, Tabs. Since he looked so much like Lucy, he became "Louie." He still hides whenever we come near, but isn't afraid to show up for a good meal or a throwdown with Tabs.
