Nicknames: Miss Nyssa, Kidd, Sonar, Patch-es, Pirate, Baby, NyssaNyssaNyssAAAA!!!!!
Birthday: November 30th 2006
Likes: Being left alone and not to be bothered unless its on her terms.
Pet-Peeves: Anything she can't see but can hear. When an object is moved and she bumps into it head first. She doesn't liked to be picked up because then she doesn't know where she is.
Favorite Toy: Any toy with feathers or that has bells in it.
Favorite Nap Spot: In the cat bed ontop of the cast rest or an open place on the couch if there is one or a spot on one of the beds in the house.
Favorite Food: She doesn't really like her prescribed cat food from the vet or her pumpkin pie filling.
Skills: What she lacks in eye sight she sure makes up for in hearing, she sure can hear you open up a bag of treats in the other room. We have to have bells on the other cats so she can know where they are and won't hiss at everything that walks by her.
Arrival Story: Nyssa's mother is Puppy. She is named after the young black wolf from the IWC that passed away. She is related to Spider. Her mom Puppy is Spider's Great-Aunt.
Bio: She has cataracts in both eyes. She can see out of the clouded blue eye better than the other. She has learned and memorized things in the house but if you move something, she bumbs into it. *clunk* "Owe!" She gets freaked out by a strange noise that she can't see where its comming from. Whats really cute is when she rears on her back feet to try and get a better glimpse at where the noise is comming from. We all say, "If she had full eyesight, her reign would shake the household with terror" She is a terroist as it is. Poor Piller. Nyssa will wrap her paws around Piller's neck and Piller will drag her across the house hissing and growling. She now gets her work outs from little miss Gracie upsettling the cat order in the house.
Favorite Places to Visit:: Ely, Minnesota- The young owner goes to college there. Two Harbors, Minnesota-We have family that lives there.
I've been to Missouri to visit my families southern relatives. That was a long ride in the car!
On December 8th, 2010, Nyssa was laid to rest. Back in October of this year she was diagnosed with cancer and surgery was not a option because it was too close to her heart. Her lungs would fill up with fluid and it was hard for her to breathe. She was put a medication and a special diet to try to stop the cancer from spreading and it seemed to be working. We took her with us to Missouri for Thanksgiving to keep an eye on her and she seemed to feel at home at my grandparents' house. She wanted us to give her attention which she never did at home. She seemed to enjoy being the only cat in the house. Thanksgiving was the last time I was able to be with her. I had to head back to school once Thanksgiving break was over. My parents would keep me updated on her health status. She wouldn't eat or drink anything and if she did it wasn't alot. She celebrated her 4th Birthday on November 30th. Once December came around, she was getting worse to the point where she was getting more and more weak and wasn't strong enough to hold herself up to walk anywhere. My dad caught her falling asleep in litter box and moved her to a blanket on the couch. The next day, my dad took her to the vet to see if she would come out of it. The outcome wasn't good. My mom called me and told me that they were going to take Nyssa to the vet to put her to sleep and would let me as soon as she passed away. My mom called me up the next day and asked if I would be all right with Nyssa being cremated and someday we would spread her ashed up in Ely on the trails that we took Nyssa and she seemed to enjoy them. I agreed to this and we had Nyssa cremated.
She will be forever missed and we enjoyed the four years we shared with her and the memories we shared. Rest in peace Nyssa. We will forever love you.
The siblings of mine that visit more than my two orange brothers are over right now. I want to play with them but all they do is give me a simply hiss or growl. I feel really out-sized. My longhaired black brother, Kirby is almost as big as mom, but he's not fat. Sorry mom. D.O.G. is a little bigger than me, she's just taller but slender like me. I just don't get it why they run away from, when I'm the smaller one.
