Firefly was part of a big litter of kittens that was due to go to a shelter to be put down because they didn't have homes. We had no intention of taking a kitten but decided that at least one of the kittens would have a home if we did. We took the kitten we thought was the quietest female, we had no idea that she was quiet because her back leg had been badly broken.
Bio:
Firefly was a charmer from the first. We named her Golden Slumbers Autumn Embers Twilight Firefly Faerie, a name much bigger than she was. At first she couldn't use her back leg at all and xrays from out vet showed how the leg had been broken and had healed out of line. But she was determined and soon was walking and jumping on her leg. We have no idea how she was hurt but as time goes on we see other signs, difficulty with her vision, head tics and some suspicious activity that may be seizures. We hate that she was so badly hurt and frightened and she seems much slower mentally than our other cats but we love her all the more and just use patience and firmness along with repeated routine to make her comfortable.
