I am getting better every day. I still have the sniffles and sneezes, but my energy is better. I even chased a toy across the house a few times.

Thank you for purring for me and thinking of me.

Feeling better?

Thank you for your kind words and purrs. I can feel the power of the purr, and it is comforting to me and my family.

Mom swears I'm a little bit better today. I started the morning on the windowsill, and ate food first thing this morning. When she got home, I was sleeping on the table. MOL. I know I don't belong there, so I get down when Mom gets home.

Mom took Don Genaro and I out into the yard. We have a walled yard, so it is safe. I laid in the sun, ate some grass, and hung out with my brother. Mom didn't think I'd want to go outside if I was feeling too crummy.

I ate all my dinner, and have been sleeping on the top tier of the cat tree. I'm still sniffling, but I don't seem to be snorting quite so much. I'm also still fatigued, but my energy is a little higher than yesterday.

I know Mom will continue to be worried until my sniffles are gone and until I'm back to running around the house chasing after my Mylar balls. However, she knows I'm a healthy girl with a strong immune system.

Thanks again for the purrs. I can feel all the love.

Purrs and nosekisses,
Cauli

I'm sick!

Mom took me to the vet so that I could get a check-up so that she'd know that I'm healthy. I was so stressed by the vet, that I have come down with a URI. I've been sniffing, sneezing, and snorting since Sunday. I'm still jumping up on the cat tree and the windowsill, but I'm not playing with my favorite toys. I'm eating all my food and drinking my water.

Mom bought me a new drinking fountain, to encourage me to get plenty of water. She's feeding me Fancy Feast with lots of gravy, too. She has talked to the vet, but hasn't taken me back. She and the vet think that the last thing that I need is more stress from another vet visit.

Mom's running a humidifier at night and has been giving me lots of love. She's not sleeping well, because she's listening for my snorting and sneezing. It's really hard for her because of the recent deaths of my dear siblings, Fiesta Cat & Zuni. I keep trying to remind her that I'm going to be fine because I have such wonderful angels to take care of me.

I'm getting along great with Don Genaro. He's a pretty laid-back sort of guy. He's a bit of an attention hog, so Mom sometimes closes the door so that she can snuggle me without him trying to join us!

Purrs and nosekisses,

Yucky vet visit!!!

I had to go to the vet today. I hate that place!!! I'm very healthy, but Mom sent me anyway. She thought I needed to be checked out and to get vaccinations and a microchip. Whatever!! The vet lady was nice, so I didn't know what to do with her. I purred and then hissed at her!! That will keep her guessing!! Mom tried to hold me, but that didn't go over well. I gave her a nice big bite on the hand. Mom didn't take it personally. She knows that I was just scared and not acting like myself.

My pawrents wanted to make sure that I got a thorough check, so they let the vet sedate me. After that, everything got really nice. I no longer minded the poking and prodding or all the smells of dogs & other kitties!!!

I'm back home now, and am feeling great. I didn't have any problems from the sedation or the shots. I heard Mom say something about a "teeth cleaning" in a few months. I hope she wears her leather gloves!!! Maybe I'll get to bite the vet next time!!!

Purrs and love as always,
Cauli

Taking care of Mom/missing my sisfur

Dear Friends,
As most of you know by now, my dear sisfur, Zuni, passed away December 5. It has been a very hard loss for the family. The cancer seemed to come on really quickly, and was quite a shock.

Mom has been sick with a cold since Friday. She came home early from work today. She seemed to collapse on the bed, so I had to go check on her. I sniffed her all over and licked her hair. I did a thorough check from head to toe. She was o.k.--just fatigued--so, I settled down beside her for a nap.

She's feeling a little bit better now after her nap, so maybe she'll take some pictures of me.

I love to get myself into trouble

Mom & Dad went on a little 24 hour trip. They left us with plenty of food and water. They have only done this one other time since we moved here, and there was no problem that time. They get home, and there is blood on the comforter. So, Mom inspected all of us cats, and she found a cut/contusion on my tail.

So, she grabbed me and put my tail under the water faucet, and took soap, and washed it out. I screamed, of course. Dad came over while Mom held me. He washed the cut out some more. The matted/bloody hair came off, and it started bleeding again.

So, what does Mom do? She gets all lighteaded, nauseous, and faint, and has to go sit down. She leaves Dad with me. He pours hydrogen peroxide on my tail. I scream, and scratch him with one claw. These are pretty deep scratches. Of course, Mom is still sitting down with her head between her knees trying not to faint. And, she says she wants to be a nurse?????!!!?????

So, Mom and Dad look at it more again. It looks like mainly a contusion, with a small cut. I must have gotten it stuck somewhere, and then freaked out. I probably went all whack-o screaming, yelling, and pulling on my tail--making it worse.

I love to get myself into trouble, and love to get myself into tight spaces. That's how I ended up with the one ear, after all. Mom and Dad have no idea how I did this. They can't find the cause of the injury. There is also the possibility that Zuni bit me. However, she has never bit me that hard before.

Anyway, I'm sure you are all wondering how I'm doing. I think I'll be fine. I'm running around like normal, and my tail is flicking the usual way. Mom & Dad will keep it clean, and will take me to the vet at the first sign of infection.

Mom will eventually recovere from her shock!!!!!!

Working hard in Albuquerque, NM!

Hi, friends!
Each of our pages have been updated today. My mom decided to take photos of us this afternoon so that all my Catster friends would be able to see how hard we work! As you can see, I have been working hard at perfecting my sleeping skills. We got this new cat tree about a month ago, and I have been making sure to wear a soft spot in it with my body. It is a great tree--it has two high levels, and a tube towards the bottom. We love to spend the afternoon sleeping in our living room. Today, Zuni & FC are on the couch, and I am on the tree.

I love sleeping; I think I'm an expert. What do you think?

To sweet Cauliflower who adores Caney Cat,
Your love will bloom like beautiful roses.
Your friendship will deepen with each day.
You and Caney Cat will have a lovely courtship.
I am blessed to be his auntie, and you are blessed to have captured his heart.
Hazel Lucy
