It's Rogue's second Christmas, and it seems she loves Christmas trees as much as when she was a kitten. She doesn't tear at them anymore, though. She sniffs them and sits under them. I guess this is what happens when cats grow up!
It's been a very busy year for Rogue. She's settled into the family beautifully. It's like she's always been here. Everyone loves her and she's the most spoilt cat you'd ever meet. She's so patient with the children, never hisses or scratches them if they decide to pick her up awkwardly and carry her around. She's my constant companion, too. Keeps my company in the lonely hours while I'm in pain (I have endometriosis). Whenever I feel like I'm going to frown, all I have to do is look at her. She'll be sleeping in some ridiculous position, or gazing at me with her little loving expression, or being a dork and doing ridiculous things to get to moths. Having a clown like her around is not conducive to being a pouty person. I thank God every day I have her because she's such a blessing.
She managed to get herself a blocked tear duct, so sometimes she looks like she's been crying. It's harmless, apparently. But they'll do something about it the next time she's put under for something. I assume that'll be dental work some years down the track.
She knows four little tricks. When the treats come out, she's a very clever girl. She can sit, stay, come and 'please'. 'Please' is when she puts her hand up very gently and stretches her kitty fingers out. Kinda like beg, really. It stops her from jumping up on tables and stuffing her head in your plate, basically. LOL! She just sits there and does the 'please' paw, which is ridiculously cute.
She's friends with both Lenny and Melma, which I think is just fantastic. Melma is a very anti-cat cat, but she seems not to mind Rogue at all. I guess Rogue doesn't beat her up (like Lenny does, and Xena did) and just sort of sniffs at her and stares at her with her 'curious' expression (that's right out of a freakin' commercial or seventies kitten poster or something). I think Lenny likes having the little girl about, especially when she steals her way outside and runs around the garden. Lenny watches her with this happy sort of expression. It's very cute.
We have not needed a can of Bagon since Rogue's been here. She is the most brilliant bug catcher I've ever seen. The only thing is she has the alarming tendency to bring her catch under my computer seat. I wear skirts and one night I lifted my skirt to find a rather worse-for-wear red wood cockroach staring back at me on my bare thigh. Now, I'm not phobic of cockroaches but you can bet dollars to doughnuts that I screamed! And after this, Rogue kept bringing the little thing back and stuffing it under the arch of my bare feet. She's a little bugger, that cat!
I've got her a stocking for Christmas, and I'm going to fill it with fun things for all the cats. She likes getting presents (and loves plastic bags) so Christmas should be pretty fun for her.
Kisses to all the beautiful kitties out there! Happy Holidays!
Love,
Rogie's Mum.

Rogue has had a very momentous couple of days. Yesterday she lost a fang tooth while chewing her Uncle Paulie's arm. I kept the tooth, it's in a little wooden box now.
And this morning I dropped her off at the vet to be desexed. It was a real wrench leaving her behind cause we spend so much time together. Poor baby-doll. I hate to think of her missing her Mummy. I can't wait to pick her up again this afternoon.

Boy, is little Rogue growing fast! Her fur has ended up being quite short, and she's lanky and long, with big ears. Like an Egyptian statue! She's got such a lovely little personality, vivacious, happy, inquisitive, loving. I love her SO much. She's my darling wriggle-puss!
I'll have more pictures up soon. She's getting to be such a big girl!
