indoors Arrival Story: Originally I had gotten Tory as a kitty for my then 7 year old daughter, but Tory had other ideas. My daughter was very upset that Tory took such a liking to me and wanted her own cat. Even though my (then) husband was so set against having pets, my daughter and I went to a pet store to buy a collar for Tory and saw this little gray fuzz ball in a cage for sale. The store owners said she was a Maine Coon, but didn't have any papers --- not that it mattered to us anyway --- and she only cost $4 (in 1976), so we bought her. Hubby was furious! He wanted us to take her back, but we weren't having it. My daughter cried and cried until he finally gave in. Bio: Abby lived to age 22 and developed a rodent's ulcer on her lip. It grew so large that she finally was unable to eat and we had to get her put down. She had become very, very attached to my second husband and he to her. It was really very hard on him to let her go. I had to hold her in my arms while the vet gave her the final shot. She went very peacefully. She was a beautiful cat and we all had loved her a great deal. Forums Motto: Pretty Abby The Last Forum I Posted In: Blue ribbon rosette "best in show"
