This cleaner can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, too. However, there are some precautions you’ll need to take. Be sure to read the instructions on the bottle. There are some surfaces and materials you have to avoid. Do not use this product on untreated hardwood, leather, suede, silk, or any other specialty fabric. It can deteriorate the quality of the material or cause discoloring.

This is the second entry on our list for Nature’s Miracle. This time it’s their Advanced Just for Cats formula.

Like their formula above, this one is tough on both stains and odors. However, it’s more specifically targeted to the potent nature of cat urine. It also comes with a different scent. The Advanced Just for Cats solution comes with a soapy fresh smell. While we prefer the mild citrus of the standard version, this doesn’t smell bad at all — but it’s a bit strong.

However, it does do its job to cover up odors. And it does more than that. The odor masking actually prevents and discourages your cat from urinating in that area again. Mind you, there are some particularly stubborn cats this won’t work on, but it’s still a nice addition to the formula.

Just like the previous entry, be sure to read the instructions carefully for what surfaces and fabrics this solution can treat. If there’s ever any doubt, perform a small spot test in an unnoticeable part of the material.

This is the second entry from Simple Solution on this list. And given that the previous is our number one overall pick, this has some big shoes to fill. Despite it being a solid cleaner, it just can’t place any higher.

This particular cleaning product differs from the first for a few reasons. First, its cleaning power is awesome, but not quite as good as the Extreme version. But it does have the quality we were looking for in our top pick. It actually discourages cats from remarking the same spot.

Secondly, the nozzle we love so much from the first is missing in this version. This solution comes in an aerosol can, and we’re not too jazzed about that. Although it does provide a continuous spray, it only settles as a foam. It would be nice to see this nozzle have stream and mist modes. The constant foaming action doesn’t cut as deep. Not to mention, it depletes the can much, much faster.

Other than that, it still carries the reputation that Simple Solution holds. It’s a good quality cleaner that can be used on any water-safe surface.

If you’re looking for an eco-friendly, all-natural alternative, then TriNova Natural Pet Stain and Odor Remover could be the right solution for you.

We like this formula for a few reasons. You can use it on any water-safe surface in your home. It’s also all-natural, that way you won’t have to worry about your cat endangering itself from accidental ingestion. The natural oils in this product are strong enough to mask the smells of pet odor. And it does an adequate job of cleaning.

However, we do wish this product had a little bit more cleaning power. It’s far from the best on stains when it comes to our list. It’s best used as an immediate solution instead of taking out deeply rooted stains. Also, the spray bottle is a bit subpar. When you get down towards the end of the bottle, the suction stem just doesn’t reach all the way. You might have to transfer it into a separate sprayer. For the price that this goes for, we really expect better.

That’s the equivalent of one gallon of pet odor remover!

The product is 100% safe and non-toxic. It’s made out of orange peel essential oils and will not cause any long-term damage if consumed. That being said, you should still keep this out of reach from small children.

However, if you’re looking for a stain remover, you should move to another product. This doesn’t do anything for stains at all. It’s just an odor remover, albeit a super powerful one. The real trick to this product is to follow the directions. If at first you do not smell the product as strong as desired, wait. It’s very easy to go overboard with this stuff.

And for all of its odor-eliminating power, it doesn’t prevent remarking.

If you’re looking for another budget alternative, OUT! Orange Oxy Stain and Odor Remover is a decent choice.

This is another enzymatic pet stain remover, but this one is also an oxidizing formula. And when stains or odors are caught right away, they don’t stand a chance. They’re quickly cleaned up and replaced with a pleasant orange smell.

However, this product is really only great for immediate stains and odors. While it will help to pull some older stains, it doesn’t really have that deep cleaning power that others on our list do. Also, the smell isn’t as strong as some of the others either (we’re looking at you Angry Orange). But in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due, this cleaner does a great job with recent stains.

It’s also safe to use on just about any surface as well. But if you’re unsure, be sure to perform a spot test. And while this product claims to prevent repeat accidents, we can’t really testify to the power of this.

9. Simple Green Cat Stain & Odor Remover

Many of you may recognize Simple Green from their standard cleaning solution. And with that product, they hit a home run. However, with Simple Green’s Cat Stain & Odor Remover, they seem to have missed the mark.

Now, this product somewhat does as advertised. It will remove minor stains; however, they need to be recent stains. Older stains will not be removed from this solution. As far as pet odor is concerned, it will temporarily remove the smell. But it seems more to mask the smell than actually remove it. You’ll need to reapply.

The smell can also be a bit off-putting. If you’re a fan of classic Pine-Sol, you may enjoy this. It’s got a strange, weak pine smell that you might find less pleasing than a citrusy or fresh scent. It also claims to prevent rewetting, but we haven’t seen any evidence that it does.

It is cheap though, and you can easily go through a bit of it on a budget.

10. Extreme Consumer Products Pet Odor Remover

The Extreme Consumer Products Pet Odor Remover clearly states that it removes pet stains on the bottle. And that is definitely not the case.

This product is very similar to Angry Orange above in that it’s only really useful for eliminating pet odors. We do like that it’s non-toxic and 100% safe for your children and cats, though. It can also be used on pretty much any surface.

The smell it puts out is a nice lavender scent that isn’t too harsh. But since it’s a relatively mild scent, it will need reapplying. The solution only really masks the smell and doesn’t eliminate it entirely. Fortunately, this product is pretty low cost compared to the others. But it just doesn’t cut it over any of our other budget choices.

Extreme Consumer Products Pet Odor Remover also claims to prevent remarking of treated areas. Unfortunately, it doesn’t live up to that expectation either.
