Arrival Story: I fostered a pregnant mama cat, Mittens, in late May, and on June 2, she had a litter of 6 kittens in our home office! As I fostered the little family of 7 I became unbearably attached to all of them and would have kept them all except that a) it wouldn't be fair to the kittens as they needed families of their own and b) the shelter I foster for wouldn't allow it. So, I ended up keeping only 2 kittens - Cosmo and his brother Panda. Mittens was adopted 3 days after she was spayed at the shelter, and the remaining 4 kittens were adopted in the 2 days following their spay/neuter! This is our first time adopting 2 kittens at the same time and I highly recommend it - they play with each other, not the drapes or the breakables!

Bio: Cosmo has 2 thumbs on each paw - one large 3-jointed thumb, then a tiny thumb between the big thumbs and the first toe. His hands are enormous! Cats with thumbs will someday take over the world!

I had quite the adventure this evening. Dad came home from work at noon with food poisoning and Mom wasn't too much better. They both had a nice nap because tonight they had tickets to The Year of Magical Thinking starring Vanessa Redgrave and sick or not, they were going! So in between bathroom trips they got ready to go and thought they put all us kitties (there are 5 of us!) in our bedroom where we stay safe while they're gone (and all the breakables stay safe too!).
But little did they know....when Dad went to get a jacket from the hall closet I silently crept in amongst the coats and boxes on the bottom of the closet and I got shut in! Mom got to thinking on the way to the theatre that she hadn't seen me before she left but she presumed I was napping under the bed. Meanwhile, I was eating my way through a box of snapshots from Dad's trip to Australia (with his girlfriend right before he met Mom...heh heh heh) and when Mom & Dad got home, they heard pitiful squeaking from the closet ...yes, it was ME! Dad wasn't happy about his snapshots being bitten, but Mom secretly smiled and gave me some shrimp! She says I'm a gooooood boy! :-}
