Arrival Story:
Hey Y’all! My name is Cinnabar Flambeau… Purrsonally it is sort of a big name for a cat but ah grew into it. Miss Bobbie found me at the Columbia Animal Control… Now that is not the best place to be… especially if you overstay your welcome…if ya get my gist... I was there with my brothers; Blue, Seal, and Ebony who had a beautiful ginger lightening mark right in the middle of his forehead! Which I thought made him very special. After seeing my brother Ebony, Miss Bobbie kinda of thought a fox got into the hen house…I really don’t know what she means by that… as she talks strange at times…even Cairo scratches his head at some of the things that come out of her mouth! Miss Bobbie has always had a soft spot for Flame points and when she saw me on the animal control web site screen she jes had to have me. Of course it’s quite obvious why… I am just so cutesy, charming and Siamese. Well mostly Siamese… Cairo says pay no mind to what humans think if you walk like a Siamese, talk like a Siamese and look like a Siamese…than you are a SIAMESE! And who should know better than a pure bred undiluted Siamese expert like Cairo. Anyways ta git back to what I was saying … I love my new, big brother Cairo, who is happy that I have come to join the household. He’s been very sad and lonely since his Uncle Deco crossed the Rainbow Bridge but now he is purring again and welcomed me with open paws but Sushi-Girl is going to be more of a challenge…but eventually she will succumb to my charm… How could she resist? I am glad I have a home of my own I sure hope that my brothers get one too! Purrs… Cinnabar Flambeau…or jes plain Cinni

Cinnabar Flambeau Farewell

Cinnabar Flambeau passed away on June 10th just ten days from his tenth birthday, it was unexpected and devastating to me and all who knew him.

Cinni was in complete renal failure and pain. It had progress so quickly that his prognosis was bleak; I did the only humane thing I could to end his suffering.

As the vet administered the shot I wanted to die too. I marveled how swiftly it did its function. One second Cinni was alive the next he had passed out and in an infinitesimal moment his heart stopped … and my heart broke.

Born in the heart of Dixie he was a true southern gentleman.
Cinnabar or “Jes plain Cinni,” was a very unique cat he was not only beautiful to look at and graceful to watch but he was very loving, gentle, funny, a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. He was perpetual motion, flying down the stairs chasing his toy mouse, walking around the railing of the second story deck, which almost gave me heart failure every time he decided to live on the edge.

One morning I had put a bowl of shredded wheat on the counter, just as I was pouring the milk over the cereal, the doorbell rang and I went to answer it. When I got back the milk in the bowl was gone and all that was left was the soggy shredded wheat. Next to the bowl sat Cinni wearing an expression of beatific serenity on his handsome, persimmon shaded face… Saint Cinnabar the Holy Terror had struck again.

Everyone who met Cinni loved him; he had a parade of admirers with me at the very front of the line. He was very special to me; I miss his gunslinger walk, those big topaz eyes and the soft trills of his voice as he snuggled in my lap.

My creamsicle boy you are sorely missed…

Sleep well my Bewhiskered Angel
