I have been going crazy lately trying to tell mom and dad how much I liked the new toy they got me. I haven't been letting them sleep at night, I've been talking constantly, but they wouldn't pay attention. FINALLY today...they realized what I was trying to tell them. But, they said they didn't get this toy for me, they didn't know where it came from. It all went down like this...I heard them pull into the driveway after work, so I sat in front of the return vent staring...mom came in and greeted me as usual, but I kept staring. She came over to see what it was. She (silly mom) thought I was staring at a spider or maybe a mosquito. Even after she looked, she still thought it was a spider. She thought she saw a spider leg sticking out of the vent. But when she finally got down on my level she saw the little toy looking back at her as he had been looking at me the past few days. She said "OH MY GOD....THERE'S A MOUSE IN THE VENT!!!" I was so excited and yet still confused...if she didn't get me this present, and daddy didn't either, than who did? Anyway, I was so excited. She was holding me back and daddy was in awe. She just kept saying "There's a mouse in the vent." And daddy kept saying "How did he get in there?" All I wanted to tell them was "get him out of there so we can play!!!!!" So, i kept trying to bat at him...his little legs were sticking out, but I couldn't get him to play tag with me. Daddy unscrewed the vent while mom kept shooing me away. There were some yelps and that was it....mom and dad were looking in sneakers, slippers, blankets, under furniture, everywhere....i don't know what they were looking for. They keep telling me I haven't done a good job and that I'm not living up to what a cat is supposed to do. I'm so confused. They made my friend leave and they are mad at me for it...how does that work? And where did they put my new toy? Maybe it was a bad idea for me to show them what I had been so excited about because now we're all on edge...ugh Maybe I'll stumble upon my little buddy in the litter box or something...as long as I don't catch him eating my food!!!!!
