Friskies wet food with water, anyone's cereal, two kinds of bagged cat food in two different rooms of the house.

Arrival Story:
A friend of the family ended up with Spock, his mother, and two sisters because the mommy cat dragged them over from the neighbor's yard. The neighbors kept bringing them back home, but the mommy kept taking the kittens back to our friends so they both agreed to let our friends keep the cat and kittens. They let us have the boy cat, who was asleep upsidedown in the sun when we first saw him. I was attracted to his white belly and pink nose. We wanted a baby and thought we should get a cat first to see if we could be good parents. When we had taken good care of him after a year, we decided that we could be good human parents, too.

Spock is very old. His kidneys are failing but we are giving him the best we can. We moved six months ago and I worried about him as the other house was all he knew. This house is more open and has a screened in porch. He can look outside so much more and be "outside" on the porch. He thrives in our new house and adjusted well! He is much happier and plunks himself on our laps at his own choosing, which he never did before. He joins us for meals in an empty chair. We love this cat and will miss him so much when he goes. When I was pregnant my non-cat Mother-in-law complained about the cat because Spock always got onto the baby furniture and clothes and bedding. I couldn't keep him out! The day we brought Philip home, Spock refused to go into the nursery. For over 12 months he sat in the thresh hold watching the baby but refused to go in. He KNEW not to go in after the baby came. Later the two became best friends even eating out of the same cereal bowl when I wasn't looking. Spock still loves cereal. Spock goes to bed every night with our teen son, under Philip's blanket with his head on a pillow.
