Arrival Story: When my beloved dog died last year, I knew that I wanted another pet, but not necessarily another dog, since the memory of Blackie was too fresh. After months of waiting, and a move into a new house, we finally decided go out and get some cats. I wanted two cats, kittens really, because they could keep each other company during the day, and there would always be a pet around. I spotted Inez and Daisy at the Humane Society, and they came home with me that day.
Bio: Daisy has a sister, Inez, who also lives with me. Both developed upper respiratory infections once home from the Humane Society, but Daisy had it the worst. I would put them in the bathroom to steam when I would take my shower, and I'd look over to see Daisy sitting on the bath mat with tears (congestion I guess) running down her cheeks. She had the worst of it the poor dear, tons of sneezing, and really congested breathing. Both were taken to the vet, since they were so wheezy, and of course they sounded much much better the day of the vet visit, but were still given antibiotics to cure any potential secondary infections. Daisy and Inez are great now, and finally have clear breathing!
I adopted both Daisy and Inez on my birthday. I know it's not really proper to give animals as birthday presents, but I had wanted cats *forever*, and they are seriously the best birthday gift I've ever had. I love them both to bits. They are true hearts, they are LOVE.

I've Been On Catster Since:
You are my sweet girl. I'll never forget the little cat that stalked up and down in its cat cage at the Humane Society, trying to attract my attention. You are the sweetest, most gentle cat, everything I knew you would be from the moment I saw you. I often think you must be half Blackie, because you remind me so much of him. I love our games of hide and seek, I love having you sit with me in the mornings when I eat breakfast. Your fur always smells like sunshine and fresh air, and is always so so soft. Simply put, you are one half of the two best things that happend to me in a *long* time. Thank you for bridging the gap, and closing the circle on bad times. When I look at you and Inez I see hope and many futures together.
Mom locked me in the sunroom today. Inez and I were let in to play, because the weather had warmed up and the room is now warm. We both decided to take cat naps, and somehow I ended up locked inside when she came by to close the door. I was tucked into a corner, and I guess she never checked to see if I was still there. *sniff* I missed all the fun stuff this evening, the dinner prep and all of our tv shows. It was only Inez who got to sit on the sofa with everyone while I was stuck upstairs. Mom did come by to let me out, and she looked all flushed and upset, but I made her feel better later on, with all sorts of cuddles and special love bites. I also sat with her while she typed on the computer, and that was swell. (I even hit some of the keys with my paw, very amusing!)
Yesterday, I almost made it out onto the ROOF. It was almost an adventure for me, but mom caught me just as I was about to jump out of the unscreened window. I don't know how she did it, she sort of caught me in mid-jump, but she did. She seemed upset for a while afterwards, but I kept her company and tried to make her feel better.
I really like Inez, sometimes I like her so much, that I try to lick her fur for her. It's also really amusing to then try and bite her. She doesn't like that very much, I'm not sure why. We love to chase bugs in the basement, though it can be tiring, so often we just sit around and do nothing. But we did manage to finally chew the drawstring cord off of mom's sweatpants, so we have a new toy!
