We're back!

Me and Primo have not been on Catster forever! I am so glad we are back! Primo has been hogging the computer FOREVER and listening to a song called "Sail Away" ever since he heard it on another cat's page. This normally wouldn't be a problem, but he keeps turning the sound up super high, and I can't get any peace and quiet any more! Anyways, enough about Primo. This IS my diary. Let's see... um.. I still like bubbles.....and my current hiding place is on top of a cupboard next to a paper dragon. I'm not as muchb as a writer as most cats.. so that will have to do for my journal entry today, plus, Primo wants to listen to that song again, so, see you later!

Today, one of my owners(the small one)was blowing theese transparent things called bubbles. They freaked me and Primo out the first time, but we eventually got used to them.I still hate it when they pop on me, but it's really fun when we get to watch them float in the air.I hope she does it again soon!

getting ready...

Today we are going to have visitors. Permanent ones... And my human pet is busily getting ready. I've never seen her tidy up so. When she is done, this place will be way too clean. (I'll bet she will even hide all my catnip mice)

There are these two big bags in the laundry for dirty clothes. One on the left, and one on the right. I can't tell the difference. I guess humans just have a lot of dirty clothes, and need two containers. Well, there are two of us cats, so it is just perfect for taking a little snooze. But, trouble is, my nephew Primo keeps insisting on hogging the same bag I want. I keep having to kick him out. So far, every time I jump in my bag, he jumps in after me. But I have been winning. Sorry, Primo! I need a little shut-eye so I am well rested when my favorite human of all time arrives later tonight. Good day!

all in a cat's day's work....

Well, today was a very exciting day. My human pet popped me in her backpack and took me to the office with her. Of course, I had no idea that that is where we were going, and expected the worst: the vet. Shots! Torture!

But I was pleasantly surprised when she stopped the car, said "we're here!" and it didn't smell like dirty cats and dogs. In fact, it didn't smell like anything. I'll bet very few folks like me pass through those doors. Maybe I'm starting a new trend.

So, I spent the day doing some very fun things. .... batting push pins off the bulletin board, rolling pens and pencils around on the floor, and the like.

I did a lot of wandering the halls, constantly getting lost (all those cubes look alike, it was nearly impossible to find my way back!)

It was particularly fun to ride the elevator up and down (it's a highrise building) and watch people's expressions when they would get on and see me. Everyone was so friendly and spent lots of time petting me and socializing. Their jobs sure must be boring!

I'm exhausted now, but it was definitely fun! Now I know what my human pet is up to every day when she leaves me. I'vemade the recommendation that the company begin a "Take Your Cat to Work Day", so who knows? Maybe I'll get the opportunity to go back soon.

oops! I just woke up.... I guess this has been a terrific, realistic dream! Darn! Well, maybe my dream will come true and someday I will be able to go to work and spend my day like a human!

Oh, the dog days of summer!

what a relaxing week I am having! Just sitting around and keeping my paws clean. I wish it would always be summer. Warm and lazy! Not much to do.

We're having a fair amount of thunderstorms and rain these days. I love sitting by the sliding glass doors at the deck and watching a good storm. It's better than watching tv.

There's this interesting dog that lives nearby. I'm not quite sure where (as I have never left my house), but I would guess that he is pretty closeby. He's very talkative and I like eavesdropping on him. Seems that he would like to go out a lot more than his owners would like..... glad I'm not a dog!

Fireworks!

They were so loud! I thought the house was going to explode! The sky outside kept flashing, but I couldn't tell what was going on. My human pet told me not to worry, that it was just fireworks, even though we couldn't see them. I don't why those humans think it's fun. Gave me a big headache! Glad they only do that once a year! Well, I think it's over now, so I can go back to sleep...................

what a nice, long, lazy weekend!

it's great having my human home these days! we're really spending lots of time together. she is so cuddly!

I narrowly escaped getting into big time trouble this morning. Primo (my newphew) knocked the flowerpot off the windowsill. Boy, someone was mad! Our human came into the room and saw what had happened and we both tried to look as unguilty as possible.... for a minute, I thought Primo had won and I was going to be the one who got in trouble.... but I guess our owner is smarter than I thought... she figured it out....

well, right now she is cooking something that smells really chocolatey... mmmmm!

my owner actually slept more than me yesterday!

Yesterday was a great day. My owner was home with a cold and slept ALL day long. It was great having a warm human to snuggle up to, keeping me warm. And no one to bug me about waking up.

I've been playing this sort of game with my human pet owner. Everytime I notice anything up on the kitchen pass-through counter, I bat it down. You know, swipe it with my paw until I get it and push it to the floor. The bigger the item, the more noise it makes. It has been really fun pushing it right back down just as soon as she puts it back! So far, I'm the winner. But who's keeping score? (Right now, there are 3 candles and one greeting card on the living room carpet!)

They say it is raining cats and dogs!

Yes, it has been raining non-stop the last couple of days. Lots of lightening and thunder. I wonder what my human pets mean when they say it is "raining cats and dogs"! I hope not!

It has been a nice time to burrow under the covers and catch up on some sleep. When it rains all day, I barely get out of bed. Well, not for much else besides some food and an occasional treat. Since my human pet leaves all day everyday (where does she go?), it's all very possible.

I'm hoping, though, to sit in the window tomorrow and watch the outside cats and dogs. If it is sunny that would be nice.

I am settling into my new home

Pretty recently, one of my human pets put me on an airplane and brought me from California to North Carolina. It sure is different here! For one thing, she keeps the air conditioning on all day, and it is cold and breezy. I can't get any fresh air like I could in California. But, I have learned a great way to get myself out of the breezy air and warm up. My human pet put some blankets out on the sofa and the chair (I think she is trying to prevent me from exercising my claws on the furniture!) I burrow underneath the blankets. It makes a big difference. Maybe I won't mind too much living here.
