As everycat knows, I had my cardiologist visit today. First of all, my regular cardiologist wasn't there. It was a woman this time. Both Mommy and I prefer the man as he was nicer to talk to even though he shaved me.

All in all, I still don't like being held down while they clamp those wires to my chest. The tech had to put an e-collar on me, and guess what I did? I bit into it as I was really hissed off. I'm glad this whole visit is over with and i'm back home in my bed with Landy.

My heart beat is 140 which is good. Mommy was told to keep me on the reduced sotalol. They also found that there was a small amount of fluid around my heart. The cardiologist then told Mommy that I was in heart failure. She asked her how long I had and she couldn't predict that.

It's so sad getting old and have to deal with all these awful diseases. Mommy feels the same way as she got the blood work results for her kidney function, and it's not good. The doctor wants to refer her to a nephrologist. Mommy cried and is quite shaken up over this bad news along with my health issues. When mommy hears stuff like this she freaks out and worries constantly.

Lastly, I thank Gleek and Platelicker for their concerned comments. It means a lot to me and Mommy.

Check out my #2 pic! Landy and I were sleeping like this earlier today and Mommy had to take this pic. It immediately when on FB and of course, now it's here on Catster.

Landy has been a great nurse to me ever since I've had my falling episodes and the toothie episode. The falling episodes have stopped since I had my meds decreased. As you can see by my last diary, my lower left canine was all swollen and achey. With the help of a week lasting antibiotic shot and painkillers, Mommy can now open my mouth to get my meds in. I also have a visit with the cardiologist tomorrow to see how the decreased sotalol is helping my heart to beat faster (also the decreased thyroid med will show that my heart is beating faster). The vet listened to my heart the other day and said it was about 140 (this is where the cardiologist wanted it to be).

And oh yes, we did have a salmon party today in Joss' honor. It was yummy too!

Also, I thank Angel Buddie for the blue healing rosette that came in earlier today. It's very kind of him to think of me.

Lastly, I concat Joss on her Diary Pick today! Way to go, sis!

Well, that's it from me for now. I hope everycat's weekend is going great.

Ever since last Sunday, I had a very ouchey mouth. I would not let Mommy give me my meds starting said evening. On Monday, November 18, I still wouldn't let Mommy medicate me. So off to the vet, I went.

It turned out that I had an abscessed lower left canine. I was given a painkiller injection along with an antibiotic. Due to my restrictive cardiomyopathy, I can't get oral surgery to remove said tooth as it would put me into cardiac arrest.

Therefore, my treatment plan consisted of painkillers, antibiotics and Mommy dropping me off at the vet's Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday. Finally, on Thursday (today), I allowed Mommy to give me my heart meds with no growling, wiggling or running away and hiding. Also, my chin doesn't look like Jay Leno's anymore. I feel much better.

Also, on Tuesday, I was really high on the painkillers. I ran up and down the stairs, played in my water dish and sang to Joss. That evening, Joss laid beside me on Mommy's bed which is an all time record.

Lastly, Mommy and I thank all cat Mommies & Daddies on FB who showed their concerns for me and Mommy during my tooth problems.

It means a lot to us. We love all of you!

Good morning, everycat! It is surely a happy Monday, as I'm in the Diary Spotlight! Thank you Diary Gal for this honor!

I also thank my pawsome friends for their concats:

1. ANGEL BUDDIE & Family - pawsome pawmail;
2. SMILEY CASSANOVA - pawsome pawmail & cool comment;
3. PLATELICKER - friend's request;
4. ELSA - yummy drumstick;
5. TATE - yummy turkey.

Another weekend has gone by with my health improving. I even wanted to go outside yesterday when Mommy took out the garbage. She had to stop me from walking out the door. She was going to let me out while she held me in her arms in the afternoon as it was a warm day. By that time, it was rather windy and she decided against it as I still have a bald chest from when my cardiologist shaved it. Geeee, she could have put one of her old, too small sweaters on me.

Aside from feeling better, I'm shedding a lot. All this loose hair gets on my tongue (yes, I have more energy to groom myself) and I spit it back out before it becomes a hairball. Of course, I'm getting hairballs more often too. Mommy doesn't know why all this shedding is going on. Hopefully, it's not my thyroid levels being too high again. Purrs are needed for this.

Also, since I have more energy, Landy wants to wrestle with me like in the past. I told him firmly "No!" with several loud hisses and screeching growls. Mommy had to yell at him to leave me alone.

Lastly, our Thanksgiving pages are done (us five in house cats) and the backgrounds are of awesome fall colors that Mommy took last weekend.

Well, I must go now as it's almost time for breakfast.

Purrs & Breeps,

P.S. I thank TIMMY & MARMELADE for their Power of the Paws and concerns for my health.

Since October 27, I haven't had anymore falling episodes. My energy has picked up, my ears are warm instead of cold, I hold my head up better, eat better, and sing and interact more with Mommy and my sibs. I even play and have had catnip a few times.

Yep, this King still reigns!

Also, it's hard to believe that Halloween has come and go. Landy, Joss and I periodically peeked out the front door (the screen part was closed) when the trick or treaters came by. Merl and Bail stayed upstairs during this time.

Soon, Thanksgiving will be here! Mommy plans on changing our pages this weekend or maybe Friday night.

I'm the King of this cat family and I'm feeling better today! My meds have been decreased exactly a week ago today, and my energy is coming back. When Mommy came home from work, I was at the front door with my sibs to greet her like I used to earlier this year. Also, I ate a hearty dinner , and 1/2 hour afterwards, I came back upstairs on my own without any falling episodes.

Mommy is so happy that I'm feeling better and of course so am I and my sibs.

Also, I extend my concats to Joss on her diary pick today. Way to go, girl!!

Lastly, I thank all my friends who gave me gifts and get well purrs and prayers. It has surely helped me!

For about five days on my reduced thyroid and heart meds plus 1/4 a tab of low dose aspirin 81 mg. (every other day on this), I felt much better. On Sunday, I had another falling and howling episode. This was after I walked downstairs and came back up a bit later. When I feel better, I venture downstairs. When not, I stay upstairs as the food, water and litter boxes are up there. Of course, there is water and some food downstairs too but no litter boxes.

Anyway, I don't know how long it'll be before I get stabilized on the reduced regemin of meds. Further purrs and prayers are needed so I can keep feeling better.

Every time, I have these falling/howling episodes, Mommy and I are afraid that my time to journey to the Bridge is going to happen then or soon thereafter. She told me when she's at work, she worries that I'll make my journey without her being around to comfort me.

It is scary having health issues such as mine. In the meantime, I'll hang in there and take it one day at a time and enjoy Mommy, my sibs, the sunlight, and food.

First of all, let me fill everycat in on what happened today. Mommy took Joss and I to the vet today; she for her three year shots and me for bloodwork to see how my thyroid meds are helping me. Everything went fine. The vet also told Mommy that I didn't act out when my blood was drawn. Joss was a bit scared as she hasn't been to the vet since last October when she got her initial shots.

Anyway,after all was done, Mommy brought us home. When I was let out of my carrier, Landy was so glad to see me that he chased me nipping at my butt. I yelped and ran as fast as my old cat legs could carry me. Mommy then picked me up and carried me up five steps and let me climb the rest. When I got to the hallway, another episode overtook me. Mommy told me when I came to that I had fallen to the floor, yowled and lost control of my bladder. She said she stroked me and told me over and over to stay with her. She picked me up and carried me to her bed wherein she continued to cuddle and comfort me. I came around laying in her arms. I gradually returned to normal and was eating, purring and drinking normally. Mommy said the seizure didn't last long, but afterwards I was a bit dazed and wobbly on my feet.

Mommy called the vet but didn't get a return call until this afternoon. She believes I did have a seizure but can't tell if it was brain or heart related without an MRI taken of my brain. Mommy told the vet that I see my cardiologist Monday and maybe he'll have some idea if it was my heart making me seize and walk wobbly.

Anyway, I could use some Power of the Purr. It would be greatly appreciated.

It's a double header today as Joss and I are in the diary spotlight. Woo-Hoo! Thanks so much, Diary Gal for honoring us both!

Also, I thank my pawsome friends for their concats as follows:

1. ANGEL BUDDIE & Family - pawsome pawmail;
2. SMILEY CASANOVA - pawsome pawmail & cool comment.

Also, it's been a busy weekend for Mommy. On Saturday, she made the autumn leave mosaic which was pretty much dry when she left the class. The only thing, she and the other lady had to finish the grouting at home because the time had run out at class. Yesterday, she was so busy that she didn't get around to the grouting. She'll do it some time this week.

Also, my cardiologist appointment is set for October 21st. I hate to go through this as I have to be sedated because I wiggle too much when the doctor shaves my chest and greases it up with some type of gel. Then he takes this thingy and rubs it on my chest which sends images of my heart to a screen. By this he can tell what's going on with my heart and then he prints out a diagnosis. I know all this as I managed to not be sedated the first time I had this done in September 2009 when I was first diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy. Hopefully this situation is still stabilized and I don't have to have my meds changed or increased. This procedure is very expensive and Mommy wishes they had Medicare for senior cats. Anyway, purrs and prayers are appreciated.

Lastly, Mommy's upstairs human litter box acted up last night. She called Uncle Dave and he'll be by tonight. In the meantime, she has to use the old one in the cellar which she isn't happy about using as there are many spiders down there and she has to walk down two flights of stairs.

Oh we'll, she hopes she doesn't have to get a new one and spend more big bucks on top of my cardiologist visit. When it rains, it pours as the old saying goes.

Well, I best be going now as Joss has to write something too.
