Last week, mom brought me a present, a new recliner! She thinks it's for everyone but actually it's all mine :) Being an inquisitive, semi-intellectual kind of furrball, I like to catch up on my tv watching in the evenings. When mom watches, so do I. She already has her favorite recliner to sit in, so the new one is all mine! If I have a love attack, I just jump down and visit mom a little, then go back to curl back up in my cushy, comfy recliner. Fluffy hasn't shown any interest in it, he prefers the massage recliner across the room. If he goes near MY chair, though, I'll make sure to stake claim in my usual way..a well placed paw to the face (hehe).
All us couch potatoes are happy. Food, toys, lots of love and of course, lots of luxurious cat naps. The life of a pampered housecat is tough, but somebody's got to do it, might as well be me (ok, and Fluffy too).

Fall is beginning to set in here in northeast Ohio. I am a southern cat and this is my first fall up north. As things begin to cool down, mom turns off the ceiling fans and lets the cool air come in, but keeps closing the windows a little more each day. I am a very furry kitty and have grown a thick, luxurious coat, more than I did down south! I still get a little cold now and then, so I head to mom, and wedge myself against her to stay cozy. I purr and knead the blankets, and revert back to little kitten in my mind. Mom brushes and pets me, and I purr all the time.
If I'm not up with mom in the recliner, then I'm on my back on the floor next to it as she works. I watch tv upside down in this position nearly every day. Every now and then mom gives my brother and I cat treats, we sure do have the life!
Mom recently bought Fluffy and I a Kitty Kube, a soft, fake fleece padded cube with a hole in the side for us to crawl in, sort of a box but much softer. We love it, and have daily play-fights with eachother over who gets to be in it first. Next time mom goes to Wal-Mart, she's going to have to get another one. We love our Kube and I deserve it all to myself :D Life is good, I'm a happy furrball.

I am purring more than ever now that my family and I moved all the way from south Florida to northern Ohio (near Cleveland). My brother Fluffy and I rode with mom as she drove a 16' truck all the way up to Ohio, my place was behind her seat. She reached over and petted us whenever she could so the trip was actually pretty good. We liked the hotel in Savannah, Georgia a lot, too, and slept all over the place, trying out the cozy spots. Such a fun adventure. We got to sit back and watch mom do all the work, hehe.
We are now living in a really great place in a fun town that is full of tourists for me to watch. Mom put our cat tree in one of the living room big windows so my brother and I can watch everything including many, many birds in the trees from our best seat in the house! Sparrows and wrens chirp at us as we bask in the sun and snooze happily.
Another fun thing is the really nice hardwood floors. Mom hung up my faceted crystal ball so I can chase rainbows on the floor, which mom calls "the kitty disco". Life is great. I wait every day for my rainbows to appear, and am sad on rainy days when they don't. I will let mom know that I want the rainbows by meowing at her until she comes and sees if she can position the crystal in a sunny spot. I have her wrapped around my paw :D
My brother and I love to sit in mom's office as she works, at the big window in there, and watch everything from our cozy spots there. There is perfect counterspace for either me or Fluffy (I make sure it's me, of course and kick him out if I catch him up there). I love sitting up there among mom's knicknacks and knocking a few over whenever I stretch. If she moves them, I find them and knock them over anyways so she can't win. I'm king of my castle..and I sure do love it here. Big, huge purrs.

Mom says we're moving next month, all the way across the country to her hometown of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. It's a big job to get ready for this. My brother Fluffy and I had our shots so we're up to date for the trip, the vet came to our home and gave them to us so we didn't need to go to him. I rubbed against his legs after the shot to show him that there aren't any hard feelings :D
Mom bought us a big cat crate, the kind they use in cat shows, so my brother Fluffy and I can ride with her in the front of the royal moving chariot (moving van). It's partitioned so we don't beat the heck out of eachother (sibling rivalry). I like to ride in cars, and will enjoy seeing all the sights. Mom's taking the trip slow and easy since she says us cats are precious cargo and she wants to make sure we get to our destination, 1100 miles away, safely. We will stay with relatives overnight on the way up, which will be nice. I never met a stranger and will have fun meeting them, as they love animals like mom does. They have cats, dogs and horses! It will be fun to meet new people and spread the love around.
So it's adios to the fleas and bugs of Florida and hello to a cooler and better climate for Fluffy and I, who are longhaired cats. We will like having a new atmosphere to hang out in, and check out all the windows so we can see the birds. Our new landlady loves pets, too. A bigger and better place for us cats in a picturesque town. Purrfect.

Mom had fun with a photo of me for St.Patrick's Day. See my profile picture, which was published on CNN at:

Mom says I'm an honorary Irishcat, as I love green (I chomp anything green: clovers, fake leaves, real leaves, etc.) and I know how to party like a furry little rockstar. I'm good at belting out balads at the top of my lungs, especially around bedtime. I was born to express myself, mom says, and it's part of my kitty charm.
Now it's time for the feeding of the cats, the chomping of the catfood and the taking of the nap so I can be rested for tonight's cat partying festivities. Mom's Scotch-Irish and will be up to keep me company, being an insomniac, she doesn't mind that I am energetic at night, and frequetly plays with me by throwing a catnip mouse or two. Life is good. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

I'm a very happy boy, and sing a lot. Humans like singing in the shower, well, I like singing in the bathroom too, but in front of the mirror as I sit on the vanity. I look at that pretty white kitty in the mirror and practice my opera voice at the top of my lungs. It can happen any time of day or night, but I enjoy when the lights go out, and the glow of the night light illuminates my face. I think I would've been a stage performer if I'd been a human :)
Another fun thing to do since we moved to the bigger and better place is sit in the big picture windows and woo at passers by. I take a flying leap into the vertical blinds, onto that marble windowsill and run back and forth on it. Then, I vault myself off the window and across the room. To infinity and beyond! Supercat, flying through the air.
Another fun thing to do is chase my tail. It's so fluffy that I forget that it's attached to me and like to pounce after it. With all this extra room to move around in, I have a great time running, jumping and playing.
When I (eventually) tire out, I flop on the coffee table and fall asleep while watching tv. I also like sleeping on the one recliner near mom's desk. It reclines when I get up high on it, and I nestle in the pillow mom put there. It's fun being me. I'm still a big kitten at heart.

Mom has been busy packing stuff, as my brother Fluffy and I watch. She's doing a good job, we approve. Mom says we're going to a bigger place with a sunroom for us to watch birds from, and another pond in back to watch critters such as turtles and other things. There's no balcony but she says we won't need it, because there's many big windows to sit in, much more than the place we're in now. Woohoo!
Even if money is tight, mom manages to get us great food. She brought home the Fancy Feast Elegant Entrees yesterday from the store. We love those. Mom makes sure to get us what we like, since, after all, we are royalty. We have her well trained. Our grandma sent us catnip in a letter, and we chowed that down quickly. We love home-grown catnip!
Mom found some cat toys while packing, and threw them out for us to play with. My late brother Blackie was the play cat, we always just watched. But, I've developed a good sense of play lately and threw the catnip filled tube all over the living room. I licked it and kicked it, until it wore me out. Mom is happy to see me play like a kitten. She says I'll have a lot more room to play in when we get to our new place. She's going to put our cat tree in the bedroom window, overlooking the pond, too. I look forward to testing it all out.

I love tv. I sleep on top of the one in the living room, it is a comfy sleeping spot. I can feel the vibrations of the people talking, being deaf, so it's like I get that added benefit as I sleep. It makes me purr.
Also, watching tv is a daily habit of mine. I don't care what's on, as long as there's movement on the screen. I watch from the table next to mom's chair, or from the floor up closer if the program is really interesting. It's a nighttime routine, when mom is nearby, for me to come and watch with her. I may get up here and there to get a snack or for a little nap between mom's feet, but I always end up watching tv with mom until she turns it off. I'm a happy boy, food, petting, and tv, what more can a cat ask for?!

I love to sing. It doesn't matter if it's 3am or daytime, when the urge to belt out a song hits, I go with it. My preference is opera, even if I cannot hear what I'm singing (I've been deaf since birth). It's fun to sing out the window at the neighbors when they walk by. Mom thinks that creative talent shouldn't be bottled up, so she just watches and chuckles whenever I let loose with spontaneous bursts of song. My brother, Fluffy, he just thinks I'm a showoff :D
When I'm not singing, I'm lying on or near mom or pestering my brother Fluffy. I get bored easy so mom thinks up things for me to do or gives me a good brushing to satisfy me. If she doesn't, I clear shelves, it's that simple. Knicknacks? I kick them off with my feet. What a waste of space. I love to lay on shelves, and they just get in my way. When rested, though, I go back to the window, to belt out a song, or watch tv with mom. She loves me a lot, and I let her know the feeling is mutual by purring loudly every night, as I lay between her feet or on her lap. Even us talented opera prodigies can let down our guard and mushy at times, hehe.

Well, it's a new year, and so far it's been pretty mellow for my brother Fluffy and I. We lost our buddy Blackie in October, and we miss him very much. The new year ahead will be a great one, though, and I'm looking forward to a whole lot of spontaneous opera singing outbursts, lots of great food and of course, being treated like the royal that I am.
I've cleared away two new shelves to roost on. One on mom's entertainment center, and the other next to mom's desk, so I can help her work. Mom says I'm a total expert on kicking stuff off of shelves. It's sort of my trademark. If I see a vase of flowers, it calls to me to come over there and knock it over. Knowing this, mom makes sure all flowers are of the silk kind, so no water is spilled. Even one vase of flowers will send me on a flower seeking mission to search and destroy. I love laying in the middle of a big pile of flowers, with a satisfying look on my face once the deed is done. Mom used to be annoyed, but now she just laughs, after all, it's fun to keep her on her toes.
Fluffy was sick but is feeling better now. He loves his food, some special stuff mom bought at the vet that stimulates the appetite. Since she bought a whole case of it, I am more than happy to help Fluffy enjoy this great food. The vet tech says it's rich and the "cat version of pizza". Yeah, I'd agree. I love it and so does my brother, who eats his food readily. We have been feasting like the kings we are. It's about time mom got with the program and gave us even fancier food than before. Now, this is the life..
