Arrival Story:
Etta was adopted in November of 2005 from the San Francisco SPCA. We lost Aretha in July and missed her terribly. But, we also missed having a kitty in our house, so we decided it was time to adopt a new kitty. We went to the SPCA's Maddie's Adoption Center in search of a kitten. We met a few kittens there, but when Etta met us she started purring and snuggling right away. So, in the end, she chose us! In the tradition of selecting names honoring blues/soul singers, we named her after Etta James. Unlike Aretha, however, Etta barely utters a sound. But, even though she doesn't sing the blues, the name Etta really suits her.
