Arrival Story:
When Mymble passed away, we wanted to get two kittens right away so Spark wouldn't get used to the idea of being an "only cat." We went to the SPCA and saw Poppyseed and her brother (also a black cat) playing cutely together. We asked to adopt them and waited in the line for processing. Finally it was our turn and the clerk said "oh, you can't adopt a male and a female together in case she gets pregnant!" So we had to rush back and pick another female without much time to choose. There weren't too many females that weren't potentially claimed by another adopter, but we saw an adorable female longhaired tabby jumping around with her 3 male brothers and said "that one!" I never thought I would have a longhaired cat because of possible grooming problems, but we had little choice. How lucky we were that we picked her--she is such a wonderful addition to our family, we can't imagine life without her!

Bio:
She and Poppyseed have grown up as "sisters" even though they are not biologically related--we call them sisters and they act like they are, cuddling together and sometimes play fighting. Little My is of a very scientific bent. She likes to perform experiments. Specifically, if a cup of any liquid is left unattended for even a short time, she will reach her paw up and carefully tip it over, and then watch with detached interest to see if the results continue to be the same as every other time she has tipped a cup over: 1) liquid flows out; 2) humans yell and come running. So far, her study has proved a remarkable consistency in the results. Our former cat Mymble was named for a character in Tove Jansson's Moomin books. When we got Little My, a tabby like Mym, we named her after the Mymble character's little sister, Little My. Little My in the books is VERY naughty. Our Little My lives up to the name!
