I don't remember exactly when Rocky Ann and I became friends here on Catster, but I feel like I've known her forever. I do know she was the first cat to friend me first and not my sister Daisy. That meant a lot to me. Of course she friended my whole family soon after, and we all loved her. I even dubbed her my 'BGF (best girlfriend)'.
So, how do you say goodbye to a friend who made you smile every day?
Mom and I always loved her stories about strolling, watching for the garbage truck and the Green Bay Packers. RA never failed to make us giggle. Especially when she put on her pink wig and did her Lady RaRa act. :-) And of course we bonded over our love of pink and all things Hello Kitty. RA made it cool to be a Hello Kitty fan, no matter how old you are!
We will always remember her generosity and the wonderful prezzies she and her Mom sent us. I still have my first T-shirt and Hello Kitty that RA gave me and will treasure them always. Just like I will treasure her memory and friendship ... forever.
Mom and I want to send hugs to RA's Mom and Dad and her brother Eric and his partner, because we know they will miss her most of all. Thank YOU for sharing your little girl with all of us.
I will never forget you, RA. I know you will be one of the brightest stars in the sky.
And from now on we will be BGFF's ... best girlfriends forever.
I love you BGFF!
Your BGFF,
Sugar

Today is grocery day. My favorite day of the week! Mom comes home and puts all those bags of wonderful smelling stuff on the kitchen counter, and I help her unpack it all! And sometimes there's even a milk ring for me when we're done!
So today, I'm prowling through the bags, looking for the milk, of course, and Mom makes me get down off the counter. So, of course, I jump back up. She said 'Sugar, there is no milk today.' Well, OK. But I still want to help. So there are sooooooo many bags, and I'm getting really excited, so I back up to the tile and tinkle! Just a teeny tiny little bit. Teeny. Tiny. Really! Mom was not amused. She picked me up and put me out on the porch! And the window was closed, so I had to stay out there! Hmph. Of all the ... Me! Banned to the porch! Well, I am not amused!
She even took pictures! How humilitating!

but still wanted to thank Catster HQ for naming me as a Diary Pick of the Day yesterday! Wow. Twice in a month! I want to thank my pals for the rosettes and good wishes ... it wouldn't be near as much fun to be a DDP without my friends!
Well, we got our new FAS, and it's great! Of course, Ollie had to hog it! He can't play with it like the rest of us. He attacks it. He's already torn the little felt ears off of it! Mom tried to get him to play with the first one we got (which he has already wrecked), but he wants to play with the new one so he can destroy it too. She says the FAS' are "battery-eaters," so she won't turn them on for us but for a few minutes at a time. Is a "battery-eater" like a tuna eater? I've never eaten a battery. They don't smell too good to me.

And it's me!!!! Daisy has always been the Bacon Queen at our house. She used to go nuts when Mom would cook bacon. She would sit and wait while it cooked, then yell at Mom to give her some.
But today when Mom made bacon, it was ME who was yelling! Bacon, Bacon, Bacon! So I got my share and Daisy's too! Daisy ate a little bite, but that was all she wanted. Not me! That's good stuff! How come Daisy didn't tell me what I was missing? Well, now I know, and I won't be missing it anymore!
P.S. Guess what came in the mail yesterday!! The Fling-ama-String! Woohooo!! Mom says she has to get batteries, then it will be ready to go! Oh yeah!

I just found out that Mom ordered another Fling-ama-String for us yesterday! Woohooo!!! Daisy and I are already plotting ways to keep Ollie away from the new one. The old one still works, but very slowly (even with new batteries). And the plastic band is all chewed up on it. Ugh.
So, we're thinking we could get Mom to put the old FAS on the guest room door (inside) and put Ollie in there with it. That way, we can play with the new one w/o him butting in! Good idea, yeah? Yep. And we think he could even live in there all the time. But Mom probably won't go for that, even though he makes the biggest messes and the smelliest poos! Well, he and Artie. MOL! Boys!
Off to sit by the front door and wait for the UPS man! Woohoo!!!

I'm a Diary Pick of the Day!! I'm soooooo excited! I have never been honored by Catster before! I'm just tickled pink!
I want to thank Catster HQ for the great honor, and especially because now that my diary was singled out, Mom will HAVE TO buy another Fling-ama-String for us! Yay!!
Maybe she can buy some other toys while she's at it! Yeah! I can always use another pink ball. I love my pink ball, but it's getting grotey. What? You don't know what grotey means? It's when something has been chewed on and dropped in the food dish, and the water dish and probably even the litter box, a few times. You know ... grotey. Oh ... Mom says it's a short form of "grotesque". Not sure what that means, or how to pronounce it. Grotey works better for me!
Thanks also to my pals Sofie, Samoa, Sugar Bear, Dion, Thomasina, Callie, Inspector Morse, Mosaic KaLeah, Pinto Paint, Dusty, Diego, Lulu, Furie and Arnold P. for the rosettes! Wow ... what a cool assortment of names!
OK ... off to find my grotey pink ball and to bug Mom about getting another Fling-ama-String! Thanks again!!

OK ... Ollie can say whatever he wants, but he does wreck the Fling-ama-String when he plays with it. You're supposed to go after the string, not the elastic band! We all keep telling him, but he won't listen. So today, we all ran him away from it so we could play with it!
We really need a second one though. Then Ollie can have the old one and we can get a new fresh one that isn't all chewed up! I better go tell Mom my idea!

I hope every kitty had a nice Christmas. Mom got us a cool new toy. It's called a Fling-a-ma-String. It hooks over a door handle and then we can chase the string.
I say 'we', but so far it's been mostly Ollie. He is hogging it! He grabs the string and won't let go! Last night I was playing with it and he shoved me out of the way! I told him Santa wouldn't bring him ANY toys next year!
Mom said she may have to get us another one because we all like it, but no one can play with it when Ollie is around! Boys!

Mom went to the grocery store this weekend, and when she got home I helped put up the groceries like I always do. Mom thinks I just like to watch her and sniff around to see what she bought. Well, sorta ...
I prowled the counter as Mom took everything out of the bags, but when she got to the milk, I got very excited and started talking to her. You know I love milk rings. I LOVE milk rings. They are my favorite thing on the whole planet!! (except Mommy :-) ) So, when I saw that milk, I knew what was attached!! A milk ring!!! Mom laughed at me, but then she opened the milk and let me have the ring! She said, "You're smarter than I thought, Shug!"
Then this morning, I was following Mom around the kitchen while she made her coffee. There's one thing I forgot ... Mom doesn't buy milk or use it very often because she has too much calcium in her body. Anyway, this morning I was watching very carefully. Mom finally got out the cereal box and I got all excited again. I was talking and trilling, because you know what goes on cereal! Milk! Milk ring! So Mom was laughing again. She said, "You are a smart girl, Sugar!" Of course I am!
Mom got out the milk, but no milk ring. But she said, "I have a surprise for you!" She went to her purse, dug inside and voila! a milk ring!! I was soooo happy, I was jumping around! She threw it on the floor and I ran to get it ... and my silly brother Artie grabbed it!! So, now I'm trying to get it away from him!
I'm trying to get Mom to go buy more milk, too. :-)
Sugar, who is desperately seeking milk rings!

I like to help Mommy unload her groceries. Do you help your Mom with the groceries? My Mommy hates putting up all the stuff. Plus, she is part of the Neilsen survey group, so she has to scan all her groceries before she puts them up. She says this is a 'pain', but she does it to get points to get nice gifts. Hmmm, wonder if they have any cat beds or toys?
I'm getting off-topic. Anyway ... I was helping Mom put up the groceries. My job is to patrol the kitchen counter and sniff everything she gets out of the bags. I also occasionally do foot patrol. That's where I follow her around the kitchen as she puts things away. But that is a bit more dangerous that counter duty. Mom actually stepped on my paw yesterday! She said, "That's what you get for getting in the way, Sugar!" In the way?? Excuse me, I'm helping! I think she's just irritated because she doesn't like doing it. So I stuck around to help some more.
I like to look in the cabinets too, when Mom opens the doors to put things in. And I will give her head-butts and arm bumps just to let her know I'm there and can help out. She doesn't seem to appreciate all my help, but like I said, I think she just hates putting up groceries so much, it puts her in a bad mood. You don't think I'm in the way, do you?
Nah.

Thanks to my BGF Rocky Ann, the purr-tiest cat in pink, for the forever diamond. Mommy is jealous. She doesn't even have a forever diamond! And double thanks to RA for my gold medal!! Now, all I need is 7 more gold medals to tie Michael Phelps!
